I’m due to meet my fourth baby in three weeks, and I’m still really unsure what her name will be. Her siblings are [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. My husband & I have LOVED [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] for quite some time but are unsure if it flows with our other children’s names. We don’t have a pattern, though. Other names we like but can’t use for different reasons are:
For middles, think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and especially [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Any advice? Top choices, middles, pairings, or new name suggestions? Thank you!
[name_u]Pepper[/name_u] has a nickname vibe for me so maybe another formal name that [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] could be the nickname for, maybe [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] or [name_f]Vespera[/name_f].
[name_u]Pepper[/name_u] is a no-go in my world. [name_m]Way[/name_m] too doggy. What about [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]? That flows beautifully with your other kids’ names and [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is adorable! [name_u]Piper[/name_u] is also nice.
[name_u]Pepper[/name_u] could be a cute middle, but it’s not going to look great on a resume, like your other kids names do. Would you consider [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as a first?

I’d use [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] as a nn or mn with your sibset. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_u]Pepper[/name_u]. What about [name_f]Esther[/name_f] as a close-sounding name to [name_u]Pepper[/name_u]?
Some other possibilities:
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f], [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], and
I would stick to [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] as a nickname - perhaps for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or Persphone? [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] are sophisticated and mature, but [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] sounds like something she would grow out of by age 10.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] fit great together and you could use the nickname [name_u]Pepper[/name_u].

The only middle name I somewhat like is [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].
What about [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]? [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that.
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] go great together in my opinion. I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] is cute but wouldn’t put [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] as the first with her siblings’ names. Other suggestions:
A colleague of mine just had a little girl named [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], so that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw that you really like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as a mn. I also love the idea of Phillippa [name_f]Jane[/name_f], nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]. A friend has a dog named [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] so unfortunately that’s the first thing I think of when I think of [name_u]Pepper[/name_u].

I quite like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] with your other children’s names, but realize you already have [name_u]Jo[/name_u] as one of their middles. I noticed you have [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] on your boy’s list- what do you think of [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] (or [name_f]Darcie[/name_f]) for a girl? I think [name_f]Darcie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is cute and would fit with the sibset. I also think [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] would be nice: [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. You could use the nn [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] with either.
As for [name_u]Pepper[/name_u], I love the upbeat, spunky spirit, and would get behind using it as a nickname. But I do think it’s wise to give a name with more versatility as the proper first name.
