[name]Hi[/name]! This is Freckles ([name]Lisa[/name]) posting on behalf of my Aunt who is due on [name]September[/name] 12th with her fifth child, and needs name help. She’s not particularly internet savvy, so she has commissioned me/us to help her find the perfect name. She says that after four kids she and DH have run out of names they love and need to fall in love with a name for this baby. They aren’t finding out the gender.
Her and DH like:
names that sound good with their last name, Elwell
nicknames
classic/traditional
-“smart”, “elegant” and “timeless” names (make of those what you will)
fits with her sibset but isn’t matchy
They do not like:
trendy
creative/unique
extremely popular or extremely uncommon
anything hard to pronounce/spell
-“L” heavy first names (they sound bad with Elwell)
Their children are named:
[name]Katherine[/name] [name]Helena[/name] (she goes by [name]Kate[/name], [name]Katie[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name])
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]Miller[/name] ([name]Teddy[/name]. [name]Miller[/name] is her maiden name)
[name]Meredith[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] (she goes by [name]Merry[/name] or [name]Meredith[/name])
[name]Jameson[/name] [name]Paul[/name] (goes by [name]Jamie[/name] or [name]Jameson[/name], he was named [name]Jameson[/name] because his father is [name]James[/name] but they didn’t want to have two [name]James[/name]'s running around)
All of their kids have three syllable names ([name]Katherine[/name] is Kath-a-rine not Kath-rine and [name]Jameson[/name] is [name]Jay[/name]-mi-sin not [name]Jame[/name]-sin) though this is not a requirement for number five (though could be cool, in my opinion).
Names that they’ve considered in the past but aren’t really feeling this time around:
Also they want to avoid repeating the first initial (so avoid K,T,M and J names) because my Aunt is a big fan of monogramming and also because it can be confusing
I personally like [name]Oliver[/name] for a boy and [name]Eleanor[/name] for a girl. Think you can find the perfect name?
[name]Eloise[/name] (too much L?)
[name]Eliza[/name] (spinoff of [name]Elisabeth[/name])
[name]Jacqueline[/name] (my sister’s name nn [name]Jackie[/name])
[name]Miriam[/name] (nn [name]Miri[/name])
[name]Adeline[/name] (nn [name]Adele[/name])
[name]Agatha[/name] (friend’s sis name and she went by [name]Aggie[/name])
[name]Georgina[/name] (nn [name]Georgi[/name] or [name]Gina[/name])
[name]Imogen[/name] ([name]Gen[/name])
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Elaina[/name]/[name]Elena[/name]
[name]Jocelyn[/name] (nn [name]Joss[/name])
Boys:
[name]Frederick[/name] (nn [name]Ric[/name] or [name]Fred[/name])
[name]Nathaniel[/name] (nn [name]Nate[/name])
[name]Edison[/name] (nn [name]Ed[/name])
[name]Everett[/name] (I know someone with this name they dont use nn, but could use Rett)
[name]Sebastian[/name] (nn [name]Seb[/name], [name]Bas[/name] or personal fav [name]Stian[/name] pn Stee-an)
[name]Lucian[/name] (nn [name]Luc[/name])
[name]Tobias[/name] ([name]Toby[/name])
[name]Ulysses[/name] (I know someone with this name and <3 nn [name]Uli[/name])
[name]Donovan[/name] (I know someone with this name too - it works well and doesn’t use a nn, but could use [name]Don[/name])
[name]Finnian[/name] (nn [name]Fin[/name])
[name]Rafferty[/name] (nn [name]Rafe[/name])
Names that immediately came to mind:
[name]Philippa[/name] [name]Verene[/name] Elwell “[name]Pippa[/name]”
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Jane[/name] Elwell “Cessa/[name]Lily[/name]”
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Anna[/name] Elwell “[name]Trixie[/name]/[name]Bea[/name]” (I think that this is my favorite of the girls’)
[name]Everett[/name] [name]Humphrey[/name] Elwell “Rett” (By far my favorite boy’s)
[name]Willoughby[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] Elwell “[name]Will[/name]”
[name]Alonzo[/name] [name]Watson[/name] Elwell
[name]Edgar[/name] [name]Lorcan[/name] Elwell
Should be getting an updated short list sometime this weekend (either today or tomorrow) and I’ll start a new thread as soon as my Aunt gets back to me!
