I like your children’s names but feel like each of your suggestions is trying just a bit too hard to 'top" them. What I like about your existing names is that they have a great blend of the familiar and the unusual.
By rearranging your suggestions, you could get [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f], which I feel matches [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]'s name very well and is wonderfully fresh without looking like a word jumble.
Thanks for your suggestions! I feel like it’s hard because it is the last baby and I’m trying to “fit in” the family names that I’d wanted to use at some point. ( Sweetwater, [name_f]Ila[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_u]Fable[/name_u])
First of all, that’s amazing that you have five kids–or you soon will! I really admire the parents of big families! Second, awesome job picking names for your first four kids that are fresh and original.
[name_u]Baby[/name_u] number five…I agree that you probably don’t want all 3 (or 4) names to be really, really different since your other four had at least one name that was more mainstream. I understand about family names–you want to honor everyone! If family names are most important to you in this next baby’s name, maybe try to come up with something that incorporates as many of those names as possible, like [name_f]Ila[/name_f] [name_u]Fable[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Ila[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] Sweetwater or [name_u]Fable[/name_u] Sweetwater [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. You may not be able to squeeze all four in, but at least you can know that you did your best. Maybe pick the 3 that mean the most to you (if you can!).
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f] and I also think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is darling!
Another vote for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f] or [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
I love your kids’ names! [name_u]Truly[/name_u] lovely! I thought [name_f]Briar[/name_f] would be really sweet, so that got my vote. But I also really love [name_u]Fable[/name_u]! At first glance, I liked [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] second best, but then I realized it shares most of the same sounds with [name_m]Declan[/name_m], and that nicknames [name_f]Cordie[/name_f] and [name_f]Delia[/name_f] both have prominent ‘dee’ sounds like your boys.
Given your three boys all start with D, I thought girk number two woukd start with B like her big sister.
Here are some B suggestions…
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]
[name_m]Bravery[/name_m] (to compliment Dare)
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]
[name_f]Brianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethann[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethanny[/name_f]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
If you are not going for Bs, [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is nice.
I’m another vote for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], but not with your combination-- [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Fable[/name_u] Sweetwater or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f], etc. are nice.
Some other names that might work well with your sibset:
Yet another vote for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Luella[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Fable[/name_u], but I dislike Sweetwater and [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Fable[/name_u] would have my vote too.
Another vote for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f] And I also like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], but perhaps in a different combination, as suggested previously.
Thank you everyone! And thanks for all the nice things said about my children’s names.
[name_m]Reading[/name_m] through the comments actually really helped me realize the most important person for me to honor in my name choice.
I was extremely close to my grandma, who helped raise me. Her name was [name_f]Ila[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. ( [name_f]Ila[/name_f] pronounced just like [name_f]Isla[/name_f])
I could also use Sweetwater as an honoring name for her, as that was the AFB she was stationed at during WWII.
I’ve always thought I might name a daughter [name_f]Ila[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] for her, but I don’t think I can now because 1) husband isn’t crazy about it and 2) with [name_f]Isla[/name_f] being so trendy at the moment, I don’t feel like it fits well with the other kids
So…I’ve got some more thinking to do. Thanks again.
