[name_u]Shalom[/name_u]! I would love your feedback and ideas! [name_f]Girl[/name_f] names are much harder for me than boy names, I suspect because there are far more male Hebrew names than female and, therefore so many of the female names feel tired and overused.
Our children so far are [name_m]Evander[/name_m] , Gabrielā:blue_heart:, Elizaā:sparkling_heart:, Aviyaā:sparkling_heart:, and Maccabeeā:blue_heart:.
[name_u]Van[/name_u], [name_m]Gabe[/name_m], [name_f]Liza[/name_f], [name_u]Avi[/name_u], and [name_m]Mac[/name_m]
If baby #6 turns out to be a boy, he will be [name_m]Zebulun[/name_m] [name_u]Reed[/name_u], [name_m]Zeb[/name_m].
I need a name that I love as much as I love [name_m]Zeb[/name_m], underused, or at least classic and timeless if it is ranking higher on popularity charts. For example, [name_m]Evander[/name_m] was a deliberate choice to use a name outside of the top 1000 SSA chart of 2011. But [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is timeless, so its popularity didnāt bother me. Itās not only a trend that will be dated when heās older. (Although [name_m]Evander[/name_m] probably will feel very dated in a few decades, what can ya do?)
It needs to be Hebrew or directly adjacent to Hebrew (such as [name_f]Anna[/name_f] from Chana) and have a favorable meaning.
Now hereās the rub, my husband will not consider any name unless it is three syllables long. He feels that weāve kept the 3 syllable theme going this long, we canāt break it now.
Hereās my list. Iām a total name nerd so itās a continuous work in progress ā¦ sinceā¦ over a decade ago. Lol. The red marker indicates names my DH at one point said were nice or at least not terrible, but, being married to a name nerd, he has become burned out in regards to baby name conversations so take it with a grain of salt. He no longer puts in much thought when I ask about these things.

[name_f]Odelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] āDellaā
oh-Dell-yah
I would shorten it to [name_f]Della[/name_f] in casual environments, and isnāt [name_f]Della[/name_f] just so beautiful!?
Means: I will Thank Yah/God -
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] āAnnaā
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] was my Great Grandmother and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is my grandmotherās middle name. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] was named after Annaās mother. This could be a three generation honor name. Plus I just love the name [name_f]Anna[/name_f] ever since my oldest boys were learning to read with books from the 1800s. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] was always a leading lady in their stories. Iāve always loved the name [name_f]Belle[/name_f] since the first time my grandmother told me it was her mn when I was a little girl. -
Elyada: [name_m]God[/name_m] is knowing āEdieā āEllieā āEllaā āElyaā
EL-yah-dah
So many cute nn possibilities and such a nice soft sound and meaning. One of my favorite hobbies is going through each name in The books of Chronicles and other biblical genealogies and looking up the original Hebrew pronunciation and meaning. This gem came straight from there. -
Elpalet: [name_m]God[/name_m] of Deliverance āLettaā āEllaā āElpaā
el-pah-LET - another beautiful name from Chronicles. I think meeting a stranger or seeing a character in a movie with this name would be very charming. Also great meaning. -
[name_f]Salome[/name_f] (sa-LO-may) āSloamā
Oh I love this name. More than most. But my boys always pronounce it salami ā¦ on purpose. So Iām not sure itās salvageable -
[name_f]Azura[/name_f]: [name_m]Adam[/name_m] and Eveās daughter, Sethās wife

Ivriya: Hebrew lady āEveā Eivriya alt spelling?
eev-REE-ah
I love this one because of its meaning also I have been looking for a name that I like that I can shorten to [name_f]Eve[/name_f], a long time favorite of mine but alas, not three syllables . Iām not sure if nn [name_f]Eve[/name_f] would work with a name that starts with I instead of E, and I canāt quite figure out a way to spell it phonetically correct with an E initial. Any ideas? -
Ellie-Ava [name_u]Psalm[/name_u] (Eliava alt spelling) my [name_f]El[/name_f] (God) is life
Ok, so when DH and I were expecting our first baby, this was our top name. Ellie-Ava. Iām pretty sure it was his suggestion too, which is a big deal, he no longer suggests anything, just waves his veto scepter. So even though itās 4 syllables, I think I might be able to convince him to use it. Weāve had two girls since then that I totally named without compromise, so it would be sweet to go back to this original name by DH. -
Evie-something. Canāt quite figure out a good double barrel, total of three syllable name with [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. But Iād love your ideas!
