I just found out (today) that I’m pregnant. Hubs and I have a girl then boy pattern so I’m assuming this sweet bundle of joy will be a girl (I know–big assumption). I have no favorite names left. I don’t even have any “names I kind of like.” Nameberries are the BEST at helping with brainstorming. I know I have awhile but our last two babies were so hard to name I want a head start!
So–my girls’ names are [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Emeline[/name_f], and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. The middle names are family names. For this girl the middle will probably be [name_f]Marie[/name_f] after an incredible ancestor named Birthe [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I love old fashioned names, obviously, and would like to stick with 3 syllables because I’m a dork like that. (My boys are Cowen, [name_m]Eli[/name_m], and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]–to give you a broader view of my taste.)
I really have nothing. What would you nameberries pick for this sweet little [name_f]July[/name_f] bundle of love?
PS If I thought my hubs would go for it, I might be tempted by [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. But [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] seems sort of . . . irresponsible/flighty/effervescent . . . compared to my other girls.
I always so throw out an limitations when it comes to naming! Pick the name you [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the most! Who cares if it fits your “pattern”. I think your baby will appropriate having a name their parents love. That being said if your first instinct says [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] then why not? If she ever asks about the difference in her name compared to her sisters then tell her that you [name_f]Love[/name_f] her name and you wanted her to have a name you really loved.
Other names you might like…
[name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
Oh, i’m jealous! I would love to be able to name that many children! I love the vintage style of your girls names. I can see them going to the ladies sewing guild for tea and cakes. Sorry for repeats here:
I really like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] but don’t really want to repeat the sound of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]'s name. [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f]! I have a nephew named [name_m]Will[/name_m] but that probably wouldn’t stop me. My parents have 42 grandkids–hard not to repeat at some point. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is the name my hubby wanted to use for [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], but I won that round. We could possibly revisit that name. [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].
I hadn’t even considered [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], but that is pretty cute. I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] but can’t use it because my [name_m]SIL[/name_m] claimed it the first day we met and it would ruin our relationship if I so much as thought about it.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], and [name_f]Iona[/name_f]. [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] and [name_f]Leona[/name_f] sound like [name_f]Iona[/name_f] and I like those too.
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] has flair but still sounds smart. I like it.
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is what I desperately wanted to name my daughter, [name_f]Emeline[/name_f], but hubby put his foot down (the one and only time in our naming together–I had to respect that).
Thanks for getting my naming juices flowing a little!
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is one I want to second, but if it’s not for you it’s not for you.
I will second [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I am sticking with your three syllables and old-fashioned but not too old fashioned style.
I also like:
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]/[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Belinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Gillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]
[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f]
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f]
For boys
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Jared[/name_m]
[name_u]Lionel[/name_u]
[name_m]Roger[/name_m]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]
Oh, I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]. I hadn’t thought of that one. I also love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I really like long vowel sounds. [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] might work beautifully.
