Baby Berries due April-June 2022

I’ve been in the same situation with my iron. I learned from my OB last pregnancy that it also makes you short of breath, I just assumed I was pregnant and carrying extra weight. I am soooo tired

The last week I’ve been taking 3 times the amount of iron I was taking. [name_f]Every[/name_f] blood test they said take iron but I already was. I am curious to see if it goes up next time.

I’ve had a challenging week. I felt an unusual sensation. I had a feeling of what it was but didn’t want to assume. [name_f]My[/name_f] o.b. sent me to the hospital to get checked, unfortunately I was right and I have a cervical prolapse. I’ve been in bed since which is not easy with children. I am waiting to see my doctor for better guidance on how to proceed.

Oh no, @Cleaver! I’m so sorry to hear that. Here’s hoping your kids let you rest, and your doctor is on top of it🙏

I’m so sorry @Cleaver . Bed rest is the worst (but I know super important at this time for you). I’m sure its tough since you have other littles who still need you. [name_f]Do[/name_f] they have any clue why this would have happened?

I also had some hard news this week. [name_f]My[/name_f] OB had me get a chest xray and an EKG for baseline measures since I’m on a low dose of bp meds for tachycardia. [name_f]My[/name_f] chest xray came back normal and didn’t show any heart or lung disease but my EKG came back that I have probable left atrial abnormalities and my OB wants me to see a maternal fetal medicine specialist in a city about 2 hours away. I feel a little defeated. I’ve never had an EKG before so there is nothing else to compare it to. I also went to my regular doctor and she wasn’t overly concerned about the EKG and really thinks that its probably pregnancy induced. She thinks its good I’m going to MFM to make sure I’m monitored by specialists in case something happens later in pregnancy.

I have wheat and dairy allergies, and normally I’m very good at eating what’s right for me. But with this pregnancy, I bought a three pack of Krispy Kreme glazed last week and almost ate them all in one sitting. I also buy little bags of Doritos, which is something I’d normally never crave. Also making sure to eat a lot of homemade veggie stew and a wide variety of healthy things but damn, it’s like I’m a different person right now!

I’m so sorry to hear that @Cleaver, I’ll be praying for you.

@emmillose, that really sucks! I can’t believe you have to travel so far to get specialist care.

@Zinnia_Bloom now I really want to have nacho cheese Doritos! I’ve been living for that artificial cheese flavour and having something sweet like donuts with it. The Krispy Kremes will be the death of me, my boyfriend’s sister brought me some after he mentioned it to her. I’m trying to stay healthy though and eat loads of veggies, I love a big veggie lasagna so I’ve bulk made some and frozen it and it’s so great to have when I just can’t be bothered to cook.

I had an epiphany today about why I’m so fatigued, I’ve cut down my coffee to one cup a day and I’m a hardcore coffee drinker so I think my body is having some caffeine withdrawal. I’ve tried decaf and it’s vile so I let myself have one cup of the good stuff a day. I know the fatigued is probably also the iron deficiency and the fact that I’m carrying two babies.

Thanks for all the good wishes and support!

@emmillose I am sorry! And such a long drive. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you are in good hands.

@Zinnia_Bloom it has been years since I had Krispy Kreme but I really felt like them this week; however, the the thought alone of Dorritoes makes me want to vomit!

@lunette just before we had my firstborn I made numerous vegetarian lasagnas to freeze and easily enjoy. The lack of caffeine takes quite awhile to get used to. I am curious if the triple dose of iron I’ve been taking the past week will actually show a difference.

The bedrest has definitely made a noticeable improvement. I’ve actually slept the past 3 afternoons. It has been extremely difficult to not participate and explain step by step how to do things. So much easier if I could do it myself. Good news is I have been given permission to do things again. But I am going to go extremely easy as when I am living my life as normal there is a noticeable physical difference and I want to be cautious and not have regrets.

@Cleaver dropping in to say I’m sorry to hear about the prolapse. I’m dealing with a postpartum prolapse (not so much cervical, it’s the anterior and posterior walls), and I imagine it being more stressful to deal with a cervical one plus having it happen during pregnancy! I’ve recently been fitted with a pessary to wear sometimes for extra support–wouldn’t be surprised if they do that for you.
Best wishes!

@labelo, just popping over to check in about that follow-up ultrasound after your limbo a few weeks ago.

@labelo you’ve also been in my thoughts :heartbeat:

Thank you so much for touching base! The on-call OBGYN at the hospital said pessarries don’t work well during pregnancy but since then everyone keeps commenting on them including the pelvic floor specialist. I mentioned to them what the OBGYB said and they looked into it and said there is conflicting thoughts and recommended I talk to my own OBGYN. I hope the pessary is working well for you and appreciate the support.

How’s everyone doing these days?

Not as nauseous thank goodness! The fog is finally lifting. 15 weeks now and I was rough till nearly 28 last time so very grateful it’s eased earlier this time!
Still getting terrible headaches nearly every day though.

Pregnancy is going well, 14 weeks in and the nausea has well and truly passed which I am so grateful for. I think I have a bit of a bump going and cannot fit into my regular jeans so I’m just living in comfy leggings and soft trousers with elastic waists.

In other news, I’m engaged! [name_f]My[/name_f] wonderful boyfriend (fiancé…which sounds weird but brilliant) proposed on [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] with Krispy Kremes and my favourite meal of sage butter gnocchi. I was definitely shocked and surprised but incredibly happy and I sobbed like a baby. We want to wait for the twins to be here to get married so probably looking at dates in 2023.

@sarahjane1 glad you’re starting to feel better this pregnancy but I am sorry for the bad headaches that is no fun!

@lunette Congrats!!! How exciting and how sweet was his proposal <3

I’m currently 18 weeks 2 days pregnant today. I had an appointment this morning to check on the little babe. I was getting quite nervous leading up to the appointment because I haven’t seen in her on ultrasound in about a month. At today’s appointment they just use the doppler to check heart beat and no actual ultrasound. I have an anterior placenta (front of the stomach which I also had with my son) so I’m not really feeling lots of movements yet so I started worrying and hardly slept last night. Well at the appointment the nurse found the heart beat right away and it was 154 bpm and was really good! I go to the MFM specialist next [name_m]Thursday[/name_m] to follow up on my wonky EKG. They are going to do a super in depth ultrasound and will most likely do my official anatomy scan while I’m there. I’m excited to maybe get some good pictures.

Has anyone started to think about names? When I was pregnant with my son my top girl name choice was [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Now that I know I’m having a girl for sure I’m starting to second guess myself. Other names I have on my list are [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f] but I just keep feeling like something “better” might be out there. [name_f]My[/name_f] son is named [name_u]William[/name_u] [name_m]Crawford[/name_m] “Last name” III (he is named after his father). We call him [name_u]Liam[/name_u] for short so I hope to find a classic name that goes well with William/Liam. We never discussed any other names for my son, so now that the naming power is really in my hands and we can actually debate… my brain is all over the place.

Doing okay. Much less sick as long as I don’t miss a single dose of meds, lol. I’m 15 weeks and definitely starting to show. Waiting for the exhaustion to hopefully subside a bit in the coming weeks.

Naming is so much harder this time. I keep coming back to [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], but I just don’t feel like it’s the one.

There’s this song called "Cyrus in the Moonlight " which I’ve always loved, probably why it keeps bobbing around in my subconscious.

[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] is a really cool name! I just went and looked up the song- it’s a good one

@labelo [name_m]Just[/name_m] checking in to see if you’re okay, lovely? Haven’t heard from you in a while. Sending love and support for whatever you may be going through. xx

I just saw this idea in the TTC thread and thought it might be fun for us, too

What features do you secretly hope this child (or children) get from each of their parents and/or family lines?

[name_u]Sequoia[/name_u] ended up with my straight, dirty-blond hair as well as my nose, mouth, and eye shape. He has my husband’s skin color, jawline, chin and dark brown eye color, as well as his eyebrow shape.

I kind of hope this one gets hubby’s dark curly hair (he keeps it long and has legit ringlets and I’m jealous of them lol). [name_u]Red[/name_u] hair also runs in my family, so that would be cool. Would be fun if baby #2 ended up with either blue eyes like me or somewhere in between like hazel. I do really like my eye shape so kinda hope this one gets it, too.

Other than that really no preference, we’re both pretty cute:)
