@jky86 sorry it’s my first time coming back here after my son’s birth, his name is [name_m]Adrian[/name_m], we had a lot of back and forth and chose a day after he was born.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first name is from a plant and my middle from the water. [name_m]Just[/name_m] realized today that my first kid’s name is from a plant and my second’s from the water. I love the connexion.

Congratulations!! What a lovely connection between you two :seedling::ocean:

How is everyone doing? Our babies are getting so grown! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

E||is is a curious adventurer! He is constantly army crawling all throughout our apartment trying to find the next exciting place or item to explore! He already keeps us on our toes. He’s been such a fun addition to our family :green_heart: He has dimples, cute cheeks, and hair that’s long, full, and wavy/curly, so I’d say he’s the complete package! We had family pictures taken a few weeks ago, so it’s fun to have some professional photos of us as a family of 4

Congrats @KatNov and @Eirime !! [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] and [name_m]Artemio[/name_m] are great names!

oh my goodness @Audreymb he has such a beautiful head of hair! Thanks for the update, it’s nice to see a little stir here in our thread. I love this age of curious exploration. Wish I could show more, but here’s my only non-face pic of [name_m]Sonny[/name_m] :yellow_heart:

I would love to hear how everyone else is doing as well! though I know most of us probably have very little free time nowadays :joy:

@Audreymb That hair! OMG! Those curls are just…it makes you just want to run fingers through it. [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f].

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] is a mover. Not quite at the 8 month mark yet, but he is crawling (quickly), pulling up to stand, some light cruising, and now is trying to balance by letting go of what he has pulled up on. He loves his brother and wants to play with whatever he has, but is the quieter child and is content to just watch things go by and observe. [name_m]Lucky[/name_m] thing his big brother loves him right back and is so willing to play the games he is playing.

The surprise for most people is [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] has thus far kept his dad’s red hair. It gets commented on all the time. We kind of hope he keeps it.

Took a hot minute to find a non-face picture too, but this is the breakfast game of peekaboo from a month of ago.

Oh it’s nice to see updates! What handsome heads of hair these boys have! (@Audreymb those CURLS )
[name_m]Zebedee[/name_m] is a couple weeks away from 8 months, and he has these long blond tufts over his ears that will probably get trimmed very soon. People think he’s a girl :joy:
He’s sitting alone, but he hasn’t figured out how to move other than rolling over and over. I think it’s because His [name_f]Royal[/name_f] Highness would rather cry till someone comes to pick him up than work on his moves :woman_facepalming: youngest child problems…he’s still happy as a clam to ride in a forward-facing front pack or a backpack while I work around the house.

He’s still nursing full time but is starting to try some solids. He is a bit challenging to feed because he wants to grab the spoon and feed himself, but he doesn’t have the motor skills for spoon-eating soft foods and I don’t yet want to give him a chunk of fruit or whatever for fear of choking. I’m going to get him one of those little mesh bags you can put a chunk of food in; he’ll love it. He likes yogurt and scrambled egg and loves chewing on a drumstick or rib bone. He was eating bananas, which I could give him without worrying about choking, but he had an upset stomach one day after he’d had some banana at breakfast; and after vomiting banana he has refused to eat it.
I’ve moved him into a pack n play at night, but he usually ends up in our bed. I have never co slept this long with any of my others, and it’s waaaaay easier at this age than with a newborn, I’ve found. He can easily nurse himself back to sleep, and I can go to sleep without worrying about smothering him. He’s a great little cuddler.
I think I’m babying him a bit, but I’m really enjoying this stage with him. Who knows, one of these times will be the last baby stage I’ll get to experience :slightly_smiling_face: The siblings adore him too.

Ahhh! [name_m]Even[/name_m] the back of the heads of these babies are all so adorable!! [name_m]Loving[/name_m] these photos and these updates!

I know someone who had this challenge with one of her babies! She decided to let her baby hold a diffrernt baby spoon while she spoon-fed him, and somehow it totally worked for him haha. It was cute because he would always “feed” himself with his spoon after every bite from his mom   Maybe it would work for your little guy!

How lovely to read all of your updates :slightly_smiling_face:

[name_m]Eshkol[/name_m] is now a little over 10 months old, corrected age about 8 months. He’s doing really well. He’s still a cuddly little guy who needs lots of hugs and physical contact to be happy, but he doesn’t start screaming when we put him down anymore.
We introduced him to solids a couple of months ago. I was a bit worried because with the twins, who were also preemies, it was a huge challenge. But for [name_m]Eshkol[/name_m] it was no problem at all. And he LOVES eating  Taking his food away is about the only thing that can make this little guy angry :joy:
He hasn’t started crawling yet, but he’s making more and more attempts as he’s trying to follow his 21 month old sister through the house

Happy late birthday to Eshkol, and happy early birthday to the other babies  What a fast year!!!

We celebrated 3llis’s birthday this weekend! I like to take fun photos on a cell phone for their first birthday based on the theme I chose, so here are a couple of the ones I took of our little space explorer! :rocket: He’s still super curious and exploratory, which has been a lot of fun. He loves to be chased, especially when we’ve caught him getting into something he’s not supposed to be into  I had a really hard time when my daughter turned 1, but thankfully it has been easier this time because I know how fun the 12-24 months are!

Thanks to our 3D printer for the name letter bowls, smash cake topper, and smash cake stand! Thanks for the dollar store for the rocket and astronaut balloons I bought back when I was pregnant. I used tablecloths for the starry backdrop, which is great because I can use them for actual tablecloths at his party in a couple weeks! And big thanks to the seller on Facebook Marketplace for the much-discounted astronaut costume! I also got lucky in the cheap section at Target with the little plastic astronaut and the space pop-it.

ETA No-sugar-added smash cake that was actually smashable

I used the same recipe for his cake that I used for my daughter’s! It was hard to find smash cake recipes that didn’t have added sugar that weren’t hard, but this one is perfect! The cake is sweetened with crushed pineapple and ripe bananas, so it tastes similar to a banana bread. The frosting is from strained Greek yogurt (to make it thick). Let me know if you’d like links to the recipes I found!

Awww Happy Birthday to 3llis! His hair is still just  those curls! Cute theme too. I’d like your recipe links! For my other babies I think I did a not-too-sweet carrot cake, but there was definitely some sugar.

Zebedee just turned 11 months. We have my oldest’s 7th birthday (!!!) in only a couple days, then my husband’s birthday, and then we’ll be planning Z’s! My daughter’s birthday is our only summer one.

He graduated very quickly from army crawl to full hands-and-knees, and now he crawls everywhere, pulls up to stand, and climbs stairs. Had to get the baby gate out of retirement again! We were at my husband’s work recently, and Zebedee couldn’t believe how much room there was to crawl in the hangar :joy:
He looooves solid food (pretty much the only thing he refuses is scrambled egg, which I think is a texture issue since he eats egg in other formats.) He never refuses nursing either , but that’s only for naps and nighttime now. He has his pack n play next to our bed, but he still wakes once or twice a night and I pull him in with me and nurse him and we usually both fall asleep. He’s still a great little cuddler.

Soooo cute to see him having so much fun exploring in the hangar! 3llis would love that too!

Sure! I’ll include them here so others can use them too if they are looking! The crushed pineapple is in 100% juice, so there are some natural sugars in it.

[name_f][/name_f]

I also liked that the cake is made in a 9x13 pan or quarter sheet pan (then cut into smaller pieces), so I didn’t need to buy mini cake pans. That also left some flexibility in shape because I was able to cut hexagons for my daughter’s first “bee” day cake!

  • Banana Pineapple Cake[name_f][/name_f]
      [name_f][/name_f]
    • I used melted margarine instead of coconut oil because it’s healthier and cheaper. I think I used olive oil, cooking oil, or butter with my daughter’s, but I don’t remember haha
    • [name_f][/name_f]
    • I didn’t have true maple syrup, so I skipped that and added a little extra liquid
    • [name_f][/name_f]
    • I used a 9x13 pan, which was finished baking on the shorter end of the cooking time
    • [name_f][/name_f]
    • This one also includes a frosting recipe that is probably also tasty!
      [name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f].

  • “Frosting” recipe[name_f][/name_f]
      [name_f][/name_f]
    • I liked this frosting because yogurt is something my kids were familiar with
    • [name_f][/name_f]
    • Start on the frosting the night before serving because it needs to be strained overnight in the fridge
    • [name_f][/name_f]
    • For my daughter’s cake, I added some of the crushed pineapple (instead of maple syrup) to the yogurt for sweetness. For my son’s, I did use some blueberry Greek yogurt mixed in.
    • [name_f][/name_f]
    • This one comes with a cake recipe that I have not tried, mainly because it looked less smashable haha, but it does look tasty!
