Nothing new happening over here, still just plugging along waiting for the ultrasound next week!
[name_f][/name_f]How’s everyone doing??
[name_f]My[/name_f] SIL had HG in both her pregnancies and it was so hard on her! I hope yours resolves soon!
[name_f][/name_f]Next [name_m]Friday[/name_m] I should[name_f][/name_f] be measuring 7 weeks, but I am expecting to be measuring a touch behind as I think I implanted late. I would not be shocked to see anything between 6-7w, I’m happy as long as there’s something in there! A blighted ovum is a real fear of mine until proven otherwise!!
So exciting @kibby! I just got my first ultrasound scheduled for January so I have a while to wait.
I get nauseous more easily these days but luckily it’s been super mild so far. Hoping yours gets better soon @SimplySarahBeth.
I’ve been noticing some other symptoms though. My first big one was having to get up every night to pee, and now my breasts are feeling tender and growing a bit (at least according to my husband). The most annoying one has been the cramping that just randomly strikes. I’ve been having more discharge than usual so I keep getting scared there’s going to be blood but there never is. Anyone else had symptoms like this? I’m pretty sure nothing is wrong but there’s still the nagging voice in my head that says something is.
@SimplySarahBeth Oh no! HG is awful! I’m so sorry. ![]()
Going okay over here. Nausea and fatigue have been ramping up, so I’m not really feeling like myself. I had to call my husband to come pick us up from playgroup yesterday because I felt so sick.
I don’t feel very functional. Sometimes I have to sit down on the floor in the middle of what I’m doing until the nausea passes. Sometimes it’s only a minute, other times it stays for ages. My nausea stopped at 11-12 weeks with Posy, so I am hoping it’s the same this time. I am in awe of people who have nausea for months and months on end; ya’ll are heroes!! I hate feeking sick.
I also already have all of the pregnancy digestion issues: bloating, reflux, etc. I feel like all my symptoms kicked in waaaay faster this time. This pregnancy is going to feel like an aaaage. ![]()
My next scan will be 12 weeks, which will be around mid-January. Just have to plod along til then.
@_thelittlefairywren[name_f][/name_f] I hope you’re able to take it easy! I have a good friend that’s a few weeks farther along than me and she’s taught me that feeling sick and tired is no joke. We’re trying to have them over for dinner as much as we can, since I’ve luckily been spared the worst of it so far. You’re definitely a hero for doing it with a little one at home too!
[name_f][/name_f]I’m starting to realize being pregnant is just like being on your period except for longer
[name_f][/name_f] I feel those digestion issues! For me it’s always the poops on my period, and pregnancy has been no different. [name_f]So[/name_f] many things I’m learning my first time!
@elizanerd[name_f][/name_f] Thanks
[name_f][/name_f] Pregnancy with a toddler really is something else. I was working full-time last pregnancy and I swear that was easier. I always feel sooo tired this time around; no amount of sleep is enough!
[name_f][/name_f] And being crawled all over while feeling sick and exhausted is another level of overstimulation!
Having dinner with your friends is a lovely way to support them. Food you didn’t have to cook yourself is always a winner in pregnancy!!
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Oh[/name_m] no, period poops are the worst
[name_f][/name_f] Hopefully that’s not going to keep happening the whole 40 weeks! I’m the opposite [name_f][/name_f]- pregnancy constipation kicked in at like 5 weeks
[name_f][/name_f] I don’t think it started til 20+ weeks last time. [name_f]So[/name_f] fun. [name_m]Not[/name_m]. [name_f]Thankful[/name_f] for fibre supplements!!
Parenting a toddler is definitely more than a full-time job! I’ve done enough babysitting and nannying to know [name_f][/name_f]- and I get to give the kids back at the end of the day.
Absolute exhaustion! I’m trying to think of how this compares to previous times and I can’t think of a match. [name_f]My[/name_f] last pregnancy I was 36. Now 39. Homeschooling is more a part of my life then ever before with overseeing three, plus a wild toddler. [name_m]The[/name_m] toddler whom is still nursing. [name_f]So[/name_f] I feel there’s likely my age as an important factor but also a lot of other factors. [name_m]Other[/name_m] then that I seem to have very very minimal nausea all throughout the day. But what is also quite prominent is food aversion. With my first I had the hard way to just eat whatever sounds good whether it carries a lot of nutritional value or not and that’s very true right now. Thankfully hubby is used to it so when I call him as he’s driving home and saying “I need front loops” (something I generally have nothing to do with ever) [name_f][/name_f] he knows the routine and rolls with it.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m], it’s super early days for me but all being well, it looks like I will also be in this group! I just got my digital positive after a couple of squinters on strip tests
[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]No[/name_m] scan yet obviously, but based on ovulation, my estimated due date is [name_m]August[/name_m] 29th… my little girl’s birthday
[name_f][/name_f] I am so mad at myself!
I also suffered with HG last time… the sickness is absolutely back with a vengeance already, but I know that can be common in early pregnancy either way. I’m hoping it does actually go away at some point this time! This is just so disruptive to my ability to function as a person. But so thrilled to have a BFP that I’m pushing those thoughts down for now ![]()
Congratulations!! @Archer27[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] I’m so sorry about the HG! Hopefully that backs off soon! Ahh yes, close birthdays can be wild lol. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s, son’s, & daughter’s birthdays are all within the span of 3 weeks. We’re decently relaxed about birthdays & it still can be a lot, but my daughter loves that they’re all back to back lol. It’s just the month of homemade cake & birthday cards for her (she loves to make people cards lol) ![]()
congrats! ![]()
my little siblings are four days apart for their birthdays and it’s always a little… hectic. but mostly fun! ![]()
@Archer27[name_f][/name_f] Yay! Congratulations on your positive! [name_m]Welcome[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f] I hope things go well for you.
@Kibby[name_f][/name_f] Thinking of you, with your scan tomorrow!
[name_f][/name_f] Hoping you get positive news! Xx
I’ll update as soon as I have news! Hopefully good!!!
[name_f][/name_f]@Archer27[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]My[/name_f] brother and I are 1 year 5 days apart and it never bothered us growing up. Shared parties and all. [name_f]My[/name_f] niece and nephew share the EXACT birthday of [name_f]July[/name_f] 11th and they turn 8/10 this year and it’s never been a problem. They’ve shared parties, done their separate thing, it’s been a mixed bag but they actually love sharing a birthday and think it’s really cool!
[name_f][/name_f]Also congratulations!!! [name_f]Happy[/name_f] to have you with us!!!
Congrats @Archer27[name_f][/name_f]! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] the nausea is getting better. Exciting about your scan today @kibby[name_f][/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]Is anyone else telling family over the holidays?
We told family super early, as I thought I was potentially having a miscarriage, with a lot of early bleeding, and would need the support network. Immediate family, best friends, and my Mum’s Group have known since about 4 weeks. We’ll tell everyone else after my next scan (around 12 weeks / mid-Janurary), assuming things are progressing well.
Thank you so much everyone for all the congratulations and well-wishes
[name_f][/name_f] And for your advice about close birthdays! I think part of it is all the hormones as well, but I just feel so bad about “taking” something away from my daughter that’s hers. But I know most babies don’t even come on their due date, so the likehood of them sharing is low. It’s more emotional than logical
[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Reading[/name_m] about all your experiences has made me feel a lot better ![]()
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone else here is doing okay! Thoughts are especially with @Kibby[name_f][/name_f], really hope your scan went well today ![]()
Originally was planning on it. With our oldest we had told everyone on [name_f]Christmas[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] 5 days after finding out ourselves. And my others were also holiday related But now we’re holding back…. If we can. [name_f]My[/name_f] first ultrasound is in [name_m]January[/name_m] 2 [name_f][/name_f] so hubby wants to hold off on telling either his parents or our kids or both h til after that reassurance scan. I’m ok with that because this month is already hectic enough to throw that on top of our kids emotional plate. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]The[/name_m] only thing is…. I’m starting to show I think. I ran into someone this week at my kids dentist of all places. Haven’t seen them since my oldest was born 9 years ago and they called me out on expecting. [name_f]So[/name_f] I’m kinda wondering if it’s going to be some untimely reveal to our kids because it’ll be obvious to the adults [name_f][/name_f]. And with being at a new provider I don’t quite want to go this appointment alone but then that requires some sort of childcare, which his parents always are, [name_f][/name_f] and it’s hard to keep a poker face with everyone on why hubby and I need a midday date. [name_f]So[/name_f] we’re still trying to figure this out. Literally no idea how to proceed.
Unfortunately things did not go well today, but my instincts have been telling me this wasn’t going to be it. Hopefully in a few months we will get another chance.
[name_f][/name_f]Good luck to all of you ![]()
Congratulations!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]My[/name_f] sibling and I had a one day gap between our birthdays. They then went on to marry someone whose birthday filled in that gap
[name_f][/name_f]. Birthdays growing up were never a tradition but varied from year to year. [name_f][/name_f] Then my 4th born put me into labor on my birthday and came a few hours after. I think it becomes a [name_f][/name_f] humorous thing you become accustomed to and learn how to handle in time.
I’m so, so sorry that you didn’t get positive news @Kibby[name_f][/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] heart is with you and your family [name_f][/name_f] ![]()
