Baby Birdie

OK so we’re pretty sure we’re settled on [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a nickname for this little one. But I don’t like it as a full name so we’re on the hunt.

[name_f][/name_f]

Here is our list of potential full names. I’d love to know your favorite and also any other suggestion you may have for full names.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]- my current top, [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is my husband and oldest daughters favorite, [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is my 2nd daughters favorite and a name that has been on my favorites list for decades and I love the sweet vintage nature vibes and combining everyone’s names into one for our baby girl. However I still go back and forth on whether I love the sound of [name_f]Lark[/name_f] as much as I love the imagery. [name_f][/name_f] And while [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] makes logical sense as a nickname, it’s not as natural as my other girls names.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]- I love the sweet gentle vintage vibes of this one, but am a little sad to lose [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- I know not everyone gets [name_f]Verity[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] but it feels very natural for us, and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] has been on our list since our first daughter. But compared to our other choice this one lacks a little bit of whimsy and nature vibes. And I dont like that [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is currently a popular book and will be made into a movie a few months after she’s born. Though this would be my husband’s top pick if it wasnt for the movie.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]- adds back in the soft whimsical nature vibes, however my first daughters initials are W.V. so to have my 3rd be V.W. seems a little odd for me plus the aforementioned hesitations I have with [name_f]Verity[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Belen[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]- really this one is more of a guilty pleasure since she would have 2 cousins named belen, and its not a family name, so I just can’t imagine us actually using it. But I do love it.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Berezi[/name_f]- one of the more natural ways to get [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and love the Basque origin. But don’t really love the sound and worry it may be hard to wear.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Enara[/name_f]- another Basque name which means swallow (as in the bird) so could potentially work but just not really loving it.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Briallen[/name_f]- this is one that’s just cute and I may consider with the right combo.

[name_f][/name_f]

Thoughts? Suggestions?

[name_f][/name_f]

I will say we’ve already ruled out more of the more usual full names for [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], like [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] & [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] etc. They’re just not quite right for us.

[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is so perfect with your girls! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite combo of those on your list is definitely [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] – she seems like so many elements strike true with your family and I really feel that’s such an important part of choosing a name.
[name_f][/name_f]If it helps, I adore the sound of [name_f]Lark[/name_f] just as much as the imagery and meaning. She has this quiet sort of strength and elegance about her that is just beyond charming, and the nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] adds a bit of a sweeter side.

[name_f][/name_f]

As for the others on your list, I do love [name_f]Verity[/name_f], but if she doesn’t feel right I wouldn’t use it. [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] is gorgeous… a few combos could be [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f], or [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

A few other first name options for you:
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Meadowlark[/name_f] / Maylark[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— has the “lark,” but a bit longer to maybe give you that melodic sound you’re looking for?
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Merel[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— means “blackbird”
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Avelot[/name_f] / [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] / [name_f]Avis[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— mean “bird”
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Aderyn[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— means “bird”
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Branwen[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— means “blessed raven”
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Briar[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] would be gorgeous!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Bryony[/name_f] / [name_f]Briony[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— love the literary connections, lyrical sound, & elegant strength!

Hmm…I love the way Lark Adelaide sounds the best but I think you really want Lark Rosalie by the way you wrote about it so I’d go with that one.

Other possibilities/mixtures ( a lot of these are old school bird names/terms):

Branwen Rosalie

Merle Rosalie or Merle Adelaide (I adore this one for you!)

Avelot Rosalie

Arnelle Rosalie

Morrigan Rosalie

Raven Valentine / Valentine Raven

Or mix and match with other middles as you fancy. Do you like double barrels or maybe not because your other girls don’t have them?

Briallen Lark Amara

Lark Rosalie Faye

Beryl Ivy Robin

Robin Verity Elise

Merle Verity Rae

Avis Rosella Willow

Poe Verity Rose (this one’s very roundabout–from the poem “the Raven” by Poe)

Poe Verity Merle

Poe Adelaide Rose

Hopefully these help!

I think of all of these, [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is the one that your sound most confident in [name_f][/name_f]- despite you uncertainties? It gives you sweet [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and a name that is whimsy but to the point [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] makes sense [name_f][/name_f]- or would be easy to explain too!

[name_f][/name_f]

I do like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] for you but maybe with a different middle? Something bold to separate it from the movie [name_f][/name_f]- though tbf, while I know of[name_f][/name_f] the film and book, I wouldn’t be able to tell you much more about it than that [name_f][/name_f]- though I feel like I’ve even looked it up [name_f][/name_f]- so maybe it’s not toooo saturated in people’s minds? Not sure

[name_f][/name_f]

Some middles: [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Briallen[/name_f]? [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Belen[/name_f]? [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_m]Larkspur[/name_m], [name_f]Verity[/name_f] Rosebeth, [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_m]Calisto[/name_m], [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Adelais[/name_f]?

[name_f][/name_f]

A few other ideas:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] (from the meaning, style of Verity?)
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Betsabe[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Albertine[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]

[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is such a sweet name :dove:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] ~ I do find [name_f]Lark[/name_f] a little sharp however I can see the appeal she is whimsy, sleek and stylish. I think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] paired with [name_f]Lark[/name_f] softens the name and feels very romantic. I also see the link with [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and the nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is strong, elegant and sounds warm. However I think with your favourite [name_f]Lark[/name_f] combination is [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] so I would dismiss [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and focus entirely on [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] ~ I absolutely love [name_f]Verity[/name_f] she’s so elegant, endearing and unexpected. I appreciate the film association maybe a little awkward however I wouldn’t allow that to put you off. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is lovely especially paired with sweet angelic [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. However do not see the connection between [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] & [name_f]Verity[/name_f] could be challenging to enforce the nickname.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] ~ I really like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] however I think this name doesn’t feel as special as [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Belen[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Belen[/name_f] is really stylish, bright and unexpected. She would be a very cool option I love how she sounds paired with [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] very pan European and sleek option with a sweet melodic sound.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Berezi[/name_f] ~ this name feels very ethereal and majestic with a beautiful meaning a lovely option that looks visually very cool. However I do prefer other names on your list.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Enara[/name_f] ~ oh my gosh I’ve just discovered [name_f]Enara[/name_f] and I love[name_f][/name_f] her she has such a lovely sound, adore the nature connection and feels very warm. [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] name I think [name_f]Enara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Enara[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] would be perfection.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Briallen[/name_f] ~ I love a Welsh name, I love a floral name however I find this name a little harsh in sound.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] these ramblings help

I do think from your description that it seems like [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] has your heart [name_f][/name_f]- and I can see why, it’s SO pretty. Have you considered [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]?

[name_f][/name_f]

Throwing in some other options for [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a nickname, though I’m sure you’ve considered some of them: [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Aderyn[/name_f], [name_f]Dove[/name_f], [name_f]Skylark[/name_f], [name_f]Starling[/name_f], [name_m]Wren[/name_m]

Starting with a nickname and working backwards is always going to add some challenges. [name_f]My[/name_f] thinking is that you either lean right into [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and give it as a full name or you try to adjust your expectations about the downsides of each name, given the challenges.

[name_f][/name_f]

It sounds like [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is probably the name you’d choose if your daughter was born today. It’s probably my favourite, even though, like you, I’d prefer the nickname to be more intuitive. It’s just the perfect amount of whimsy and a stellar match with your older daughter’s names.

[name_f][/name_f]

The good thing here is that [name_f]Lark[/name_f] itself doesn’t naturally lend itself to nicknames, so [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] being related by subject rather than sound makes sense. There’s also a much lower chance that she’ll go by a different nickname, but she may still decide she wants to be known by [name_f]Lark[/name_f] all the time at some point.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] appears to have the least downsides and most upsides except I do wonder if [name_f]Verity[/name_f] would have your heart if it weren’t for the novel and film. I don’t know anything about the novel or film, but if it’s a stand-alone film then I would suggest gritting your teeth and persevering through. Because I believe this will be a relatively small association in the lifetime that you will know and raise your daughter. It will probably start fading within a few months of the film being released, as with most films. You will also carry the knowledge that your enjoyment of the name came before and is unrelated to the film.

[name_f][/name_f]

I don’t love [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Verity[/name_f] but I remember you describing the similarities in your accent so I agree it’s fairly logical, even if not as equally intuitive. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is my favourite of your two [name_f]Verity[/name_f] options, it feels more balanced and reflective of your style, but I get how the reverse initials would bother you. If she’s [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] most of the time, I think that lessens the similarity. It would be as if her initials are V.W. formally, but B.W. for everyday use.

[name_f][/name_f]

I started off thinking [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] was the best choice, but as I’ve thought about it more, if we’re comparing first names one on one, I prefer [name_f]Verity[/name_f] over [name_f]Lark[/name_f]. I would rather choose a first name I enjoy more, over a beautiful combination with a first name I enjoy less. [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] would be the most straight-forward choice, while [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (or Evangeline) would be more complicated – but my gut is saying it’s worth it. [name_m]Will[/name_m] those concerns matter in 1 year, in 5 years, in 10 years time? I don’t think so.

[name_f][/name_f]

Would you be open to other middle names for [name_f]Verity[/name_f]? I’m sure you’ve mentioned [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. Perhaps [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f], [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]? I do love the imagery of [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] though. The sharpness and bubbliness of [name_f]Verity[/name_f] contrasted with the gentleness of [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. So beautiful.

[name_f][/name_f]

If nothing feels right, then as I said, [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a full name could be the compromise you make. It works beautifully with your older daughters’ full names as much as their nicknames. It also would avoid the possibility of her not using [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] anymore as she grows up, which is a much higher possibility with most of your list. Her middle name could be her back-up option should she ever not feel like using [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], like [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

Lastly, some full name suggestions, though I’m not sure any will beat your list.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Bardot[/name_f], [name_f]Betula[/name_f], [name_f]Beverly[/name_f], [name_f]Bethan[/name_f], [name_f]Betsan[/name_f], [name_f]Bidelia[/name_f], [name_f]Bettina[/name_f], [name_f]Betony[/name_f], [name_f]Bethesda[/name_f], [name_f]Berenice[/name_f], [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], [name_m]Berkeley[/name_m], [name_m]Berlin[/name_m], [name_f]Remember[/name_f], [name_f]Ember[/name_f], [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], [name_f]Amberly[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] friend has a St@rling nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

You could also use [name_m]Wren[/name_m], [name_m]Robin[/name_m], [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], or [name_f]Jemima[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

I also like [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] & [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] though perhaps they’re too mainstream.

[name_f][/name_f]

Could you go [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]? [name_f]Or[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Dove[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]? Etc

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] feels like the most personal of the options – it ties in your whole family’s input, has strong nature imagery, and gives you [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a nickname. I agree that [name_f]Lark[/name_f] → [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is not as intuitive as other choices, but it works through the bird imagery and would feel completely natural once you start using it. If you love the idea of [name_f]Lark[/name_f] but not the sound, maybe it shines better in the middle (Rosalie Lark)? But if you want the nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], keeping [name_f]Lark[/name_f] upfront makes more sense.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is also a gorgeous combo. The [name_f]Verity[/name_f] → [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] leap works if it feels natural to you (your family will quickly adapt). The [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] [name_m]Hoover[/name_m] [name_f]Verity[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] connection is real, though – this one might be tough if you don’t like the pop culture association sticking to her name. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] brings back the nature imagery you love, but if the reversed initials bug you now, it may keep doing so.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Belen[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is a stunning name, but with two cousins named [name_f]Belen[/name_f], I agree this feels like a GP more than a realistic option.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Berezi[/name_f] and [name_f]Enara[/name_f] are great routes to [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] on paper, but I’d cross them off if you don’t love the sound.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Briallen[/name_f] is really sweet – gentle, floral, and unusual. Might work well as a fresh unexpected route to [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], especially with a strong “d” sound in the middle. [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]? I’ll also suggest Bryony/Briony as an alternative option.

I think Lark Rosalie nn Birdie is just lovely  This one is my favorite, but your other options are beautiful as well. I’ve tried to come up with a few ideas if you decide she’s not quite right for this little one

Wren Adelaide

Robin Rosalie

Sonnet Evangeline (little song = Birdie?)

Melody Adelaide / Melody Rosamund

Calliope Adelaide (beautiful voice = Birdie?)

Sparrow Adelaide

Heidi Evangeline (maybe a stretch, but she shares some of the sounds)

Bronwen Rosalie

Bronte Adelaide

Zipporah Evangeline (meaning)

Tabitha Rosalie (see Heidi)

Oriole Adelaide

Paloma Rosalie (meaning)

Meadowlark Rosalie

Bethea Rosalie

Alouette Rosalie (meaning Lark - definitely stretchy, but beautiful none the less)

From your list [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is my favourite. I like the nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] for [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] has a lovely flow with [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. Perhaps a different middle for [name_f]Verity[/name_f] would work better to make it stand out a little more? You could use [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] so that you get to use [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] still.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is lovely too, but if you’re unsure on Larks sound you could use another obvious bird name like [name_m]Robin[/name_m], [name_m]Wren[/name_m], [name_f]Dove[/name_f], [name_f]Raven[/name_f] or [name_m]Sparrow[/name_m]?

[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is adorable with your girls!

[name_f][/name_f]

I think I like [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] the best too [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is closer to my heart, but [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] feels more perfect for you, and [name_f]Lark[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is perfect. [name_f][/name_f] I love [name_f]Lark[/name_f] so incredibly much!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] is gorgeous and feels next the most you after [name_f]Lark[/name_f], but I understand your concern with the film. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is a pretty big stretch for me, but I think [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] “Birdie” would be really sweet? [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Or[/name_f] even just [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] That avoids the VW issue and also gives you a little bit more of a bird connection for those who don’t get [name_f]Verity[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]!

[name_f][/name_f]

Belen/Berezi/Enara especially are nice options but it doesn’t sound like you are feeling them that much, and I don’t love them with W’s and H’s names. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] is ok but I’m not a huge [name_f]Bri[/name_f] fan and admittedly never saw the appeal. [name_f][/name_f] I think [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Andeline[/name_f] would also be really sweet, too, for what it’s worth. [name_f][/name_f]

Thank you all for the lovely responses and suggestions!

I think hearing everyone’s opinions and options has made me feel a little more confident in using [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. Its kind of clarified my reasoning behind the name. I still think I’ll need sometime to ruminate on it a bit (partially because I hate the idea of never using some of my all time favorites since this will most likely be our last baby!) But I think [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is starting to feel more right.

I definitely like [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] best. [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] would be my runner up.

I’ve seen [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Its probably too much of a stretch but I’ve also considered it for [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] because of the “Wren” sound. [name_f]Beverly[/name_f], or any other B name (Bethan, [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], etc.). [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], because of the bird related meaning. [name_f]Or[/name_f] any of the actual bird names like [name_m]Wren[/name_m], [name_m]Robin[/name_m], [name_f]Starling[/name_f], [name_f]Meadowlark[/name_f], [name_f]Raven[/name_f], etc. I just remembered [name_f]Branwen[/name_f] means “white raven” so a B name and[name_f][/name_f] a bird meaning.

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] to me just isn’t a name for a baby, it’s too much of a ‘word’ if that makes sense? I’m not a fan of the others.. I love the idea of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] as the middle name, it’s elegant and gives you the nature-y vibes you’re wanting. I like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for the nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], and also [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] (I know you’ve ruled those out, but they make the most sense to me, they’re classic names with the whimsical nickname Birdie.)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]May[/name_f] I suggest some other bird-related names: [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] (song thrush), [name_f]Deryn[/name_f] (bird), [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] (dove), [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (north american bird), [name_m]Wren[/name_m] (songbird), [name_f]Branwen[/name_f] (blessed raven), [name_f]Ava[/name_f] (bird / birdlike).

[name_f][/name_f]

(I actually think the pairing [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_m]Finch[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] is positively darling! It’s whimsical, still gives you the nickname of [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] whilst also giving her an equally unique middle name and traditional first name.)[name_f][/name_f]

Her older sister is named [name_f]Holiday[/name_f], so we actually really love the idea of using an unexpected word as first! (But I know it’s not for everyone, and that’s OK!) And we tend to do unique firsts with a more common middle to fall back on.

I totally appreciate your feedback and I hope this doesnt come off as being rude! It just made me giggle knowing I’ll probably do the exact opposite, but I love hearing all the different styles [name_f][/name_f] and if it wasnt my baby I do really love the suggestion [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_m]Finch[/name_m]!

I definitely think Lark Rosalie is the best choice out of your list! I adore Birdie, and think this combo would really be special for you.

I know you said that you don’t like a lot of the more common full names for Birdie, but I thought I’d drop a few just in case. Personally, I feel she works as a nickname to any B name (so Beatrix, Bernadette, Beverly, Beulah, etc.), but I know that a lot of those don’t have the whimsy it seems you’re looking for!

Maybe you’d like Florence? I’ve always loved Birdie as a nickname for her, and she feels quite feminine and whimsical. Along the non-b name wave, perhaps…

Paloma – means dove
Roberta – from the “bert” sound
Linnet – a type of bird
Wren – type of bird
Alberta – from the “bert” sound (love this with H and W’s names!)
Aya – Hebrew word for bird (?)
Avis – means bird in Latin
Mavis – means songbird
Liberty – from the “bert” sound (I love this with Holiday and Winry!)
Phoebe – a type of bird

I can see what PP saying - and Lark is more “wordy” than Holiday (even if not technically different categories). I also think Holiday sounds more melodic & classically feminine and is more easily nicknamed from the name itself. Lark in my accent is quite harsh/honky. Also there’s a “holiday lark”.

I would go:

Holiday & Birdie (outright)
Holiday & Liberty (nn Birdie)
Holiday & Paloma (nn Birdie)
Holiday & Beatrix (“)
Holiday & Bluebell (Blue / Bebe / Birdie)

And maybe Phoenix, Starling, Dove, or Wren/ Wrenna.

Or a new name altogether, like Domino, Prairie, Plum, Meadow or Lotus…or a last name name.

That said, Lark does sound much better in a rhotic/heavy R accent where it sounds more tailored and much cooler - so I know my long A no R accent significantly clouding the name for me. Likely for others on here. If you love it, you should just go for it!
