I found out today that I’m expecting a boy…again. I’ve been trying to think of a name for him b/c a name for a girl would have been a lot easier for me. I want names that mean something, so I have been searching for names along the lines of gift from God, new, beginning, fresh start, etc. I like the name [name]Neo[/name] b/c it can mean new and it can also mean gift. If I was going to have a girl, she would have been named [name]Genesis[/name].
So, I was thinking about [name]Neo[/name] [name]Jeremiah[/name]. I also like the name [name]Anaya[/name]. I’m not really into too crazy of a name, but I’m also not much of a fan of the more traditional, common names. And no, I do not think there is anything wrong with those names either. My other 2 sons’ names are [name]Luciano[/name] and [name]Jericho[/name].
Any feedback would be appreciated. And yes, I do know [name]Neo[/name] is also a character from “The Matrix”…lol
ooh i [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Jericho[/name], i pushed that name heavily for my son. [name]Neo[/name] seems like a rapper name to me. I am going to suggest theses names
Congrats!! I really like your sons’ names In theory, [name]Neo[/name] is cool. I do think it could be quite difficult for a kid to carry with the Matrix connection. You’d also need to consider how badly it may grate on you when people assume he’s named after the movies. [name]Anaya[/name] is also nice, but does sound quite feminine as a boy choice - in fact I wasn’t aware it was an option for a boy! I’d love to hear more about the background on that one as I’m not really familiar with it.
[name]Ebenezer[/name]
[name]Enoch[/name]
[name]Gilead[/name] (definition is not exactly lovely, but the “balm of [name]Gilead[/name]” reference is nice)
[name]Malachi[/name]
[name]Nicodemus[/name]
[name]Obadiah[/name] (loooove [name]Obie[/name])
[name]Solomon[/name]
I have a [name]SIL[/name] named [name]Ezra[/name], a friend’s son and a few others named [name]Malachi[/name], and I worked with a guy named [name]Obadiah[/name]. I called him [name]Obie[/name] one kanobie…however it’s spelled…from the [name]Star[/name] Wars movies. He went by [name]Obie[/name] b/c it was easier to say. Not too sure about the other names though.
[name]Anaya[/name] is a unisex name apparently. This is a variant spelling of the Hebrew name [name]Anaia[/name], meaning “God answered”. The standard English form of the name is Anaiah.
And honestly, it wouldn’t bother me about people thinking [name]Neo[/name] was from “The Matrix”. When older people ask what my name is, some ask if I’m from “Bewitched” b/c my name is Tabbatha.
