We are having our fourth sweet boy and having a hard time deciding on his name. Big brothers are [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_u]Callum[/name_u] [name_u]Oliver[/name_u], and [name_m]Harris[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. His middle name will most likely be [name_u]August[/name_u] but that’s not set in stone. Our current contenders are:

Gresham
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
[name_u]Niall[/name_u]

I think [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] and [name_u]Niall[/name_u] match the feel and style of your boy’s so well. Gresham sticks out to me, too different and unusual compared to the brothers. I love [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] with [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m], but not sure about [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] with [name_u]Callum[/name_u] and [name_m]Harris[/name_m].
I also think [name_u]August[/name_u] as a first name with your sons.

Yes! We use their formal names outside of our home but at home we often call them, [name_m]Thatch[/name_m], [name_u]Cal[/name_u], and [name_m]Bear[/name_m].
In that case, my vote goes for [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] nn Lochie! Otherwise [name_u]Niall[/name_u] also fits in nicely with his thoughtfully named brothers

For another little brother, here are my thoughts-
Lochlan-This is super handsome & perfect w/your crew. I do prefer [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] & think that’s slightly more popular. So, maybe easier anyway. It’s sweet but sporty & sleek. Fairly straight forward but pretty uncommon.
Gresham-It’s interesting. Is it a family name? It reminds me of [name_m]John[/name_m] Grisham. It feels a little odd for a fn.
Shepherd-I want to like this, but just can’t get into it. It feels too wordy as a name in my opinion, but it’s not unpleasant.
Niall-[name_u]Love[/name_u] this. [name_m]Even[/name_m] more interesting than [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m], but not terribly complicated. So handsome & friendly & smart. Really nice w/big brothers’ names.
Shepherd “[name_m]Shep[/name_m]” feels utterly perfect with your boys’ names and nicknames.
If you were open to moving it to the first name slot, I think [name_u]August[/name_u] “[name_u]Gus[/name_u]” or “[name_m]Auggie[/name_m]” would be fabulous too.
I really love [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] for your sibling set all three have relatively strong names that have this fashionable surname as first name association. I think I would prefer [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] as I prefer the flow but still [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] is lovely. [name_f]My[/name_f] second favourite would be [name_u]Niall[/name_u]. [name_u]Niall[/name_u] is a lovely friendly choice.
You’ve had a few suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the rest of the berries.
Gresham isn’t a family name. We came across it randomly on another young boy and it stuck out to both of us. It’s been the front runner and my husband really likes it the best. I do worry it’s too out there and that we like it because it’s new and fresh. All the other names have been contenders for our other boys so they’ve lost their original appeal a little bit, if that makes sense. However, after reading all of your helpful comments the charm came back for [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] and [name_u]Niall[/name_u] for me. While we agree that [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] fits in perfectly, there’s just something about it that has never gotten us fully on board. Lots to think about but thank you again!!
