Wife and I have found out we’ll be having a baby boy, and we’re both very excited. However, to be quite honest I’m at a loss when it comes to names. I’m Scottish, and we decided that his middle name will be Scottish, just like his sister, and first name will be Russian, which is where my wife’s from. His sister’s name is [name_f]Aleksandra[/name_f], which I feel means that we can’t really use [name_m]Aleksandr[/name_m] or [name_m]Aleksei[/name_m]. One more thing is that our last name is [name_m]Anderson[/name_m], so names that work well with that would be good.
My favorite Russian name is [name_m]Anatoly[/name_m] “[name_m]Tolya[/name_m],” but I also love [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] ([name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] is gorgeous!), [name_u]Konstantin[/name_u], [name_m]Ilya[/name_m], and [name_m]Vasili[/name_m].
I am thinking that a name that doesn’t “jar” too much alongside [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] and has a form of it and is familiar in both cultures, would be a great choice. I like the pp’s suggestions of…
