Baby boy due in two weeks...our top two names!

So our final two picks are:

[name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]
and
[name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name]

!

Which do you like better? [name]Emmanuel[/name] and [name]August[/name] are both family names, and [name]Lionel[/name]'s nickname will be [name]Leo[/name]. I love both of the names so much! We have planned to save them both and decide after he’s born. but I don’t know how we will decide - and what if we disagree? Anyways, I’d love to hear thoughts! thanks!

[name]Don[/name]'t worry – I think you’ll both know the right name. And if you don’t, you can always pull the “I just pushed a baby out of me” card. They both do have a different feel, though, so I think it will feel clear which one he feels like.

These are both AWESOME and stunning names. My favorite is [name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]. Wow. What a perfect name! Congratulations and good luck!!

I love [name]Silas[/name]… I would go with it

[name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name], hands down. Very handsome and unexpected!

I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name]!

You all aren’t making it any easier!!

Does [name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] sound SUPER biblical? We love [name]Emmanuel[/name] for its biblical meaning “God is with us” - but [name]Silas[/name] (even though it’s in the Bible) we just like for…itself. We don’t want to be over the top/fanatically biblical, that’s all…

[name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] would be my pick. I like that both names are recognizable but not super common. I don’t find it overly religious. I would not have made the connection.

I prefer [name]Leo[/name] on its own to [name]Lionel[/name], but [name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name] do go well together. Good luck!

[name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] definitely doesn’t sound overly biblical to me. I think it might just feel that way because [name]Emmanuel[/name] is so tied to the bible. To me, it just sounds so incredibly handsome. Definitely not fanatical. I really don’t think you have anything to worry about. When he’s born, I think you’ll know which one is right. Your work is done – you’ve come up with two terrific, gorgeous names. Now sit back, relax, get a pedicure, and enjoy your last few weeks of relative calm.

I like both. I’m leaning towards [name]Silas[/name], but you really can’t go wrong. Good luck!

Wow, really hard choice! [name]Both[/name] names are AMAZING. [name]Lionel[/name] and [name]Silas[/name] are both among my favorites - too bad my husband doesn’t like either :frowning: I don’t think you can really go wrong with either combo. [name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] doesn’t scream “biblical” to me at all. Either one you pick, your son will have a GREAT name!! Sorry if that doesn’t make it easier! If you wanted one thing to help sway you in one direction or the other, the only thing I’d say is that [name]Leo[/name] seems to be becoming significantly more popular these days, so [name]Lionel[/name]/[name]Leo[/name] may encounter more [name]Leos[/name] than [name]Silas[/name] would encounter other Silases.

I really like [name]Silas[/name]! I’m not sure the “man on the street” would even know that [name]Silas[/name] was a Biblical name and if so who he was. I find the two "l"s in [name]Lionel[/name] cause me a bit of a tongue-tie.

They are both absolutely great names. Tough choice! I think I slightly prefer [name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name], however. The nn [name]Leo[/name] is awesome and I adore [name]August[/name] (it’s on my list- actually so are [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Lionel[/name]!). For me, [name]Lionel[/name], especially paired with [name]August[/name], feels slightly warmer than [name]Silas[/name].

[name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] is my pick! I do think it sounds religious since both names are biblical, but I’m not sure that I’d say it’s overly in-your-face.

They are both divine! I love [name]Lionel[/name], but there are a lot of [name]Leos[/name] out there… It’s a really distinguished name, and it’s lovely with [name]August[/name]. [name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] is such a luscious name to say and write. I think I will vote [name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name], just because I’d assume a [name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name] was born in [name]August[/name], under the sign of [name]Leo[/name].

This is really hard, because they are both amazing names! Congrats on picking two great ones. I think you should wait til you meet him to see what name fits him better. I bet if you blurt out which one you think suits him better when you see him, his dad will just have to agree with you since you’ve just given birth (at least it happens that way in the movies, haha). If I HAD to choose one, I think I’d go with [name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]. [name]Lionel[/name] was my great grandfather’s name and my grandfather’s middle name, and it’s so great, but I think I like the sound of [name]Silas[/name] better. Good luck!

[name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name] is 100% my cup of tea. I love it! I love animal names and [name]August[/name] is so handsome sounding.

I don’t consider [name]Silas[/name] to be overly biblical, I actually like [name]Silas[/name]. [name]Emmanuel[/name], is extremely overly biblical to me, but because it is a family name that is more important.

Another vote for [name]Lionel[/name] [name]August[/name]. It sounds refined and distinguished, while [name]Silas[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] sounds a little bit like a pioneer splitting rails on the homestead.

I prefer [name]Silas[/name]. If the other names was [name]August[/name] [name]Lionel[/name], I would go with that. I don’t care for [name]Lionel[/name]. It makes me think of [name]Lionel[/name] [name]Ritchie[/name] and not in a good way.

Thank you for all the feedback! I am personally leaning towards [name]Lionel[/name] “[name]Leo[/name]” [name]August[/name] at this date and time (it does have a warmth to it, as someone so thoughtfully mentioned), but some days it goes the other way! I really love them both so very much - and hope we have another boy either way…so we can use the other name

it’s so great to read everyone’s thoughts and suggestions!
