I love [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. Having had Kallus as your last name I am sure you know the possible mispronunciation issues. All really great choices.

I agree about the possible mispronunciation of Kallus (In my head, I read [name_u]Cal[/name_u]-iss)–[name_u]Utah[/name_u] is cool, and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is great! Factoring in your connections, Im voting for [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]!

I voted for [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] as well. I’d probably go with Kallus as a mn as it just seems fraught with pronunciation difficulties.

[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is definitely my top choice. I think it fits best with your interests. It’s cool and definitely unusual, but not completely unheard of. Place names are kind of “been there, done that” so I’d pass on [name_u]Utah[/name_u]. Kallus by far is my least favorite. I totally understand your desire to use your maiden name and it’s a sweet idea for sure, but callous. That’s all I can think of or hear or think.

Thanks so much for your input everyone. I’m grateful for your thoughtful & honest comments!!

I voted for [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. I would use Kallus in the middle spot for pronunciation issues (although maybe not with [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] … a little too rhyming). I don’t really care for [name_u]Utah[/name_u] as a name. Perhaps there is another way to honor [name_u]Utah[/name_u] without actually using the state name?

More great thoughts. Thanks to everyone for giving their two cents!

I’d vaguely worried about what [name_u]Utah[/name_u] symbolizes to other people (to me, it’s canyons, red rock, etc). But yeah… polygamy isn’t the best connotation. Also, hadn’t thought of “[name_m]Baker[/name_m]” as having a pot connotation, but I can see your point. I’ll rack my brain for other references to [name_u]Utah[/name_u]. We met in [name_m]Moab[/name_m] near (Arches/Canyonlands [name_m]Parks[/name_m]), but that’s not a great name with [name_m]Baker[/name_m].

I still love the idea of my maiden name, but I have to agree that the “callous” mispronunciation is an issue.

My husband will be happy that [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] won the poll. I like it, but I’m trying to love it.

Thanks Nameberrys for the advice.

[name_m]Skip[/name_m] [name_u]Utah[/name_u] as a name. Not great associations.

[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is terrific – I think it’s a strong and challenging name and it might be that you have to meet your son first before the name will suit him. It’s great!
