Baby boy inspiration

My other half and I love talking names, and it feels as though we are always finding new girl names that we love, like, or toss around for a while… Boy names however are totally the opposite!! [name_f]Every[/name_f] conversation is commonly along the lines of: “seen any boys names you like?” … “nope!” … “you?” … “hmm, not really”… ALL THE TIME!!

So I thought I’d see if any of you amazing namers could freshen up our pot of options/ideas!

We like names that are uncommon and interesting, and often that have a nice meaning (but that is not mandatory). Recently, we decided that we would include a family name in our names… so the pattern of all our names is: First Name - Middle Name - Family Name.

Names we have locked in so far are: [name_u]Bentley[/name_u] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] Alastiar [name_u]Murray[/name_u], and [name_m]Saxon[/name_m] [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] [name_m]Boyd[/name_m]. (for those curious, [name_m]Philip[/name_m] is my partner’s dad, and [name_u]Murray[/name_u] is my dad)

([name_m]Saxon[/name_m] [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] [name_m]Boyd[/name_m] is an odd one out as each name is actually a family name - but we just love them all and the combination that they make - [name_m]Boyd[/name_m] is my partner’s MM, and defs staying)

Other boy names we like are [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_m]Othello[/name_m], and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. We’ve tossed [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] about, but can’t settle.

Possible family names include: [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Basil[/name_m], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Brian[/name_m], and Lendardt.
(We’re not keen on [name_m]Brian[/name_m], and given the overt “Dutchness” of Lendardt (my grandparents are from [name_u]Holland[/name_u]) we probably won’t use it, but I thought I’d list them anyway in case anyone wants to be creative.)

Names along a similar vein to our three ‘definites’ would be great! [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to be creative. We’re open to all sorts (within reason… simple goodies like [name_m]John[/name_m] and [name_m]Paul[/name_m] will probably be turned down flat, sorry).

Thanks Berries!!

Thanks @hannahcarmen. I really like [name_u]Arden[/name_u], but my SO doesn’t #sadface. We did toss about [name_u]Everett[/name_u] last night, and it might have some merit.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]! It’s on my wish list but my partner thinks it’s too out there. [name_m]Ive[/name_m] got 4 months to convince! From your list I also like [name_m]Ulysse[/name_m]. I taught a gorgeous boy 2 years ago with that name and he was so proud of it. His mum was Canadian and his dad was [name_m]French[/name_m]. A few more on my list: [name_m]Ace[/name_m], [name_m]Koa[/name_m], [name_u]Van[/name_u], [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] & [name_m]Ajax[/name_m].

@kaiajade we love [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] too! I love the spunk and uniqueness it has, also the implied meaning.
Oh good! That is nice to hear - that other little boys are called [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]! We love it, and it is a family name, but it is a great uncle’s name and I wondered if it was kind of destined to be a ''old uncle" name. Your experience makes me feel better,
