We are having a baby boy and are confused between two names - [name_m]Hashim[/name_m] and [name_m]Azaan[/name_m], please suggest which name is easier to pronounce for [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers or which name sounds good to you
I’d say:
[name_m]Azaan[/name_m]: ah-zan
[name_m]Hashim[/name_m]: ha-sheem
I think I like [name_m]Azaan[/name_m] best - though not sure if I’m pronouncing them correctly
[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_m]Azaan[/name_m]!
I think both names would be easy for [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers (I’d pronounce them the same way as Greyblue).
I also like [name_m]Azaan[/name_m] best. I’ve never encountered it before but it sounds very zazzy with its z, while being similar to common names like [name_m]Adam[/name_m], [name_m]Allan[/name_m], [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] etc.
In [name_f]English[/name_f], I’d say hah-SHEEM and ah-ZAHN. Both seem about the same in difficulty.
Congrats on your baby boy!!
I would pronounce [name_m]Hashim[/name_m] as “HA-shihm” and [name_m]Azaan[/name_m] as “AH-zahn”. I don’t know if those are correct, and I apologize if they are not right!
Personally I think you should go with you and your husbands favorite! Both are easy to read and should be easily pronounced here in the US.
As a US based english speaker I would instinctually pronounce them as ha-SHEEM and ah-ZAHN.
I really like Azaam !!!
