[name_m]Hi[/name_m] nameberry friends!! We’re having a terrible time deciding on a name for our baby boy coming in [name_f]September[/name_f]!! We wanted to go with something that incorporated [name_m]Mac[/name_m] or nickname would be [name_m]Mac[/name_m]; my husband’s middle name is [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] and my maiden name was [name_u]McLaughlin[/name_u], so both of us had [name_m]Mac[/name_m] as a nickname someway or another!
We were trying for a first name with Mc or [name_m]Mac[/name_m] but now I’m thinking maybe middle name [name_m]Mac[/name_m]?? My husband likes [name_m]Mac[/name_m] as a first name but I think he needs a name name!!
If you want to go the middle name route, it seems either [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], [name_u]McLaughlin[/name_u], or [name_m]Mac[/name_m] would be the obvious choices.
My dad wants me to use mac as well… our last name is mcdonald . And everyone called him scotty mac.
But my babys last name will be brown… and I’m afraid ______ mac brown , will sound like a really gross cheeseburger you would get from [name_m]McDonald[/name_m]'s (Mc chicken Mc double Mc brown… lol )
So I told my dad I’d consider the middle name [name_m]Fleetwood[/name_m], as in [name_m]Fleetwood[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m]!
Which is also one of my favorite bands … not sure if this helps you tho!
The only name that comes to the top of my head is MacGyver that u could shorten to mac lol

Although, I think it would be super neat to just give him your maiden name! [name_u]McLaughlin[/name_u] nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. I wish I had a surname that I could give as-is to a child. It’s such a lovely way to honour your side when your child has your partner’s name.
I would use [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], Mckay, [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_m]Makai[/name_m]/Mikai, [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], or [name_m]Merrick[/name_m].
