We recently found out we will be having a baby boy to add to our family of four making five! The pressure is on for the name. My parents are very involved in this process (sometimes I feel my mom thinks she gets equal vote…yikes!) My husband and I have a daughter [name]Morgan[/name] and he has a son from a previous relationship Dacoda. So we want something that sounds good with those obviously. So far we have narrowed it down after much searching:
With middle name options (as we would like to have a family middle name):
[name]Richard[/name]
[name]Arlen[/name]
[name]Kyle[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
Our last name ends in ‘ON’ so alot of my favorite names with similar endings were out. But everyone is having trouble agreeing on a favorite! I would like some outside opinions other than friends and family because we aren’t ready to give away our name yet!
My favourites are [name]Garrett[/name] and [name]Chase[/name] personally. With [name]Drew[/name] and [name]Reid[/name] close third and fourth. I like the combos: [name]Garrett[/name] [name]Matthew[/name], [name]Garrett[/name] [name]Arlen[/name], [name]Chase[/name] [name]Matthew[/name], [name]Chase[/name] [name]Richard[/name], and [name]Drew[/name] [name]Arlen[/name].
[name]Reid[/name], [name]Brody[/name], or [name]Garrett[/name] would be great with siblings [name]Morgan[/name] and Dacoda. I’m leaning toward [name]Brody[/name]. [name]Brody[/name] [name]Kyle[/name] or [name]Brody[/name] [name]Matthew[/name]?
Great list-- excellent blend of the timeless and the modern.
With [name]Morgan[/name] being a modern boys’ name-turned-girl, and Dacoda being very very modern, I think [name]Levi[/name] is too jarringly old. The others work, save [name]Levi[/name].
I would eliminate [name]Owen[/name] as it rhymes with your surname.
[name]Parker[/name] = a valet, someone who parks cars for a living.
That leaves [name]Garrett[/name] and [name]Brody[/name] for longer names, and [name]Reid[/name], [name]Drew[/name] and [name]Chase[/name] for the monosyllabic options.
[name]Brody[/name] shares the central ‘ode’ sound with Dacoda, and I worry the -ee ending sound could appear girly to some. If Dacoda goes by [name]Cody[/name] then it’s definitely out.
I like [name]Andrew[/name] more than [name]Drew[/name] alone, but it is too traditional with [name]Morgan[/name] and Dacoda. And [name]Chase[/name], to me, is a verb.
That leaves [name]Garrett[/name] and [name]Reid[/name], and they are both very handsome. [name]Reid[/name] can go with [name]Arlen[/name], [name]Richard[/name] or [name]Matthew[/name], and [name]Garrett[/name] can go with all four. My favorites are [name]Reid[/name] [name]Richard[/name] (sooooo distinguished) and [name]Garrett[/name] [name]Matthew[/name].
[name]Morgan[/name] and [name]Reid[/name] are both characters on Criminal Minds. Not a deal breaker for me but I’d expect people to ask, “Oh, like on the tv show?” so decide whether that would bother you.
