  • Henry Tillery : 14 (24%)
  • Everett Tillery : 13 (22%)
  • William Tillery : 11 (19%)
  • Gus Tillery (nn, need full name) : 7 (12%)
  • Vincent Tillery: 14 (24%)

I chose [name_m]Everette[/name_m], but [name_m]Henry[/name_m] was a close 2nd. The rhyming doesn’t sound bad to me. As for [name_u]Gus[/name_u] the only formal name I like for it is [name_u]August[/name_u].

I really like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tillery sounds bad, but visually it would probably bother me a bit too. I also like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u], so that’s my vote.

I’m going to rate them by how they sound with your surname.

Top Two Faves

1 [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] - only avid royal watchers (me) would know that the Danish crown prince and his wife have twins named [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m].
2 [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_u]Gus[/name_u] - full name possibilities are [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] or [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Angus[/name_m] or [name_m]Gustave[/name_m]. I like the [name_u]August[/name_u] names best.

Lovelovelove [name_u]Everett[/name_u], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] are fab together! [name_u]Everett[/name_u] Tillery sounds great. My concern with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tillery would be more that it sounds like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tilney (of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] repute), rather than it’s too rhymey. I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u], though, so [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tillery would get major props with me. I actually really love the idea of [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] Tillery, too, if you don’t have a middle picked yet. I like [name_m]William[/name_m], but not really as a first, and I think [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] is super handsome.

[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are a stunning sibling set. [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] is so handsome.

I thought of [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tilney too, but that made me like the name more. Plus, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tilney’s notoriety is nowhere near that of Mr [name_u]Darcy[/name_u], so it would probably be only the odd person who would notice it. I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] together.

I happen to agree with you and think that [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tillery is too matchy-matchy. I think [name_u]Everett[/name_u] Tillery is a very strong name and I love it paired with the soft and sweet [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] are so wonderful together! In regards to the y-endings, is a hypothetical little [name_m]Henry[/name_m] going to get a middle name? Because then that would even it out a little, I think

Some suggestions:
[name_m]Archibald[/name_m]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_u]August[/name_u] (full name for [name_u]Gus[/name_u]?)
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Gustav[/name_m] (full name for [name_u]Gus[/name_u]?)
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]

Also …

I second this with all my heart. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] is such a smashing combination of names and our little royal twins aren’t even remotely as well-known as little [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] of Cambridge, so I doubt that anyone would go “[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] … oh, like the royal twins?”

I think [name_u]JoJo[/name_u] and [name_u]Gus[/name_u] sound so cute together! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tillery is kind of -ee heavy for a boy, and as a [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] nerd I would stumble over it and call him [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tilney. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] both end with t’s, and I generally think it’s good to avoid slurring like Everttillery (Is it [name_u]Everett[/name_u] Tillery or [name_u]Everett[/name_u] Illery?). [name_m]William[/name_m] Tillery is rather l-heavy. So, my vote is totally for [name_u]Gus[/name_u]! (If you want to get really cute, you can call them [name_u]JoJo[/name_u] and GusGus  ) I personally think [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] Tillery sounds handsome.

Oh, I love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. They both have a dignified flair.

From your list, [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] are best together.

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] is another really good fit.

Full names for [name_u]Gus[/name_u]: [name_m]Angus[/name_m], [name_m]Argus[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Augustin[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_m]Fergus[/name_m], [name_m]Gustav[/name_m], [name_m]Gustavo[/name_m]

Thanks everyone. The problem with naming child is that it’s not just up to me :frowning: If it was, he’d be [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. My husband just can’t seem to warm up to [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and I don’t understand why. We both like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but aren’t sure about the last name. (For the poster who asked the middle name, it would be [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Edmond[/name_m]). We tried to discuss it and come to more agreement this morning and he just ended up adding more names to the list. I’m trying to give his names genuine consideration. I’m really trying. The new list is:
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Marcus[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Gerard[/name_m]

I love that you have a [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]JoJo[/name_u]! That’s my sister’s name! Anyway, my vote was for [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], but [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] Tillery or [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] Tillery nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u] would pair really well with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]JoJo[/name_u]. I agree with jame1881’s assessments of the other picks, especially confusing [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tillery for [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tilney (though Nameberry probably has a higher ratio of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] nerds than the general population does.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u]?

My great grandmas name is [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and her fathers name is [name_m]Augustin[/name_m]

Like jame1881, I don’t really like your choices ending in T, simply because of how they sound with your last name.

I love Gus, and Augustus Tillery or Augusten Tillery sound and look awesome to me! I also really like Augustus and Josephine together (Gus & JoJo is a precious pairing.) I like Marcus as well.

I honestly love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] as a name and while I get the [name_u]Austen[/name_u] reference I’d hazzard a guess that you wouldn’t get that as much [name_m]IRL[/name_m].

I also love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] but ended up voting for [name_u]Gus[/name_u], with [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] my favourite option.
