I prefer [name_u]Everett[/name_u] over [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], personally. I just can’t get the “spender” association out of my head for [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]. I like both [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m].
By the way, your daughter’s name is gorgeous! I hope to have an [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] someday. Have you had a lot issues with people pronouncing of her name wrong? (It wouldn’t deter me from using it, just want to be prepared!)
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] is fabulous!
I like all of them, my husband is determined to pronounce [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] like [name_u]Reece[/name_u] but I like it, [name_m]William[/name_m] is an excellent middle because it has so much history though and ages so well. [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] I have never seen on a child, once in a soap opera when I was a kid on a very blond man and once on pretty little liars on the main character who is a female, I do feel like its a boys name and the association didn’t sway that though it could be unisex as with almost anything. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is a family name for us too, as is [name_m]William[/name_m] and I know a child called [name_u]Everett[/name_u] called Ev mostly. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is older and holds a place in that ages well category too… I like [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] as combinations and [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] is a name we considered for a while as well and may someday use honestly but I voted [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] based on my own preference with that as a nn. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you can decide soon, I think you have good choices
@dinosaursroar [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is pronounced like [name_u]Reece[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] best.
I love the name [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] but it is decided ‘too American’ for my S/O.
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m]! [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] was one of my top choices with my last!
I voted [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] go well together, and [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] are both cute welsh middles Btw I love your daughters name, [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is gorgeous, and [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] is my name!
I would normally say [name_u]Everett[/name_u], but I just love the sound of [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]! I think my fave combo is [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] tho [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is actually my favorite first.
Sorry for the late reply! I actually wrote a reply a couple days ago on my phone but accidentally closed the page before finishing
Anyways, yes, people mispronounce it all the time! Not once they’ve heard it out loud, but if they’re reading it for the first time off a piece of paper or something. We say “aw-reh-lee-ah” and I always expected variances in pronunciation (like “oh-ree-lee-ah”) but instead people just get it completely wrong and think her name is [name_f]Ariella[/name_f]. I guess I overestimated the literacy of the general population!
That being said, we get a lot of positive feedback regarding her name, and some people flat out adore it. We do call her [name_u]Ari[/name_u] 99% of the time though. I’ve always loved the nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u] but didn’t want to use the more trendy [name_f]Aria[/name_f] or [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]. We also considered [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] but we’re a fairly nerdy couple to begin with, so we thought everyone would just think we were crazed LotR fans. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] seemed perfect since it’s very classic, but not common or weird sounding, and still fits in with modern trends. I have no regrets! I like that she has the option of going by [name_u]Ari[/name_u] or [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] when she’s older, depending on her personality.
Thanks to everyone for voting and posting. We are leaning [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], but no matter what we pick now, I feel like it’ll be a good name! You all gave me the bit of encouragement I needed. It’s tough when the name doesn’t just magically click.
btw, is it weird to have two Welsh middle names when neither of us are Welsh? They just have such good names and spellings!
I voted for [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m], as I dislike both [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. I like the nickname Ev for [name_u]Everett[/name_u], much more than [name_m]Rhett[/name_m].
