The [name_m]Duke[/name_m] and Duchess of Cambridge have welcomed a daughter!
Now that the name isn’t far behind, anyone care to make any last guesses or wishes before it’s revealed?
It seems [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is almost a shoe-in somewhere but I don’t think it’ll be the first. Maybe [name_f]Alice[/name_f]?
I hope they’ll go for a more obscure royal name, like [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], although I don’t think they will.

Oh , i would love a [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]!
My top combo for them is [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], though I do think it’s almost safe to assume that [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] will be in there somewhere.
I’d love something a little obscure, something like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f]… a royal name of old, so to speak, but I think it’s pretty much a dead-cert that [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or both will be in there somewhere. I hope the betting favourites - [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - are totally wrong, just because it’d be nice to be surprised. Whatever it is, I have a suspicion we won’t know the name until tomorrow, or [name_f]Monday[/name_f].
Edit: So, yesterday, something happened that just goes to show how obsessed I am with names, and perhaps, the royals too. I woke up rather suddenly, convinced that the name would be Eleanor. No doubt I’ll be totally wrong, but who knows? I like it!
I’d be really surprised if [name_f]Diana[/name_f] wasn’t the first name. However, I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful!!

I’m betting on [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] ______, [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] _______ or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] _____ but I think [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] could be a contender as well. I definitely think [name_f]Diana[/name_f] would be a middle name, possibly [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] too, after both of their mothers, or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], but I’m not sure on [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], because [name_m]George[/name_m] carries part of the [name_f]Queen[/name_f]'s name already.

Personally, I would like them to go something a bit more obscure. Especially as this isn’t the first heir. Looking at the family tree, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] would be gorgeous.
The [name_f]Queen[/name_f]'s grandmother [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] had a [name_f]May[/name_f] birthday and was known as [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] of Teck before becoming [name_m]George[/name_m] V’s consort. [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] would be nice – although formally my guess will be … [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

I would love to see a refreshing, traditional name: [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. They’re royal names but haven’t been used in YEARS.
I agree. There are several choices yet they reuse the same ones to the point of becoming boring and overused. I’d love to see [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] has royal connections and meaning.

Completely agree! [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] would be great and I hadn’t even though of [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]! I’ve been pulling for dark horse [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. I know the name will be a beautiful classic, but I’m so hoping for a less boring one!
I hope/would like her name to be [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. (I placed a £1 bet on [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] for a laugh). This month is the birthday of a [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], wife of [name_m]George[/name_m] III. [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] Middelton’s middle name is also [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. As well as being the [name_f]Queen[/name_f]'s name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] also seems to be a honourary name within [name_f]Kate[/name_f]'s family, with her and her mother’s middle names being [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is mainly there for [name_m]William[/name_m] to honour his mother, which as a second middle name I feel the [name_f]Queen[/name_f] would not have too much of a problem with.
