I thought I had it all figured out but now I’m second guessing my list and baby could be making an early appearance. I could have days - I could have a week. Yikes!
I don’t want to throw out my list entirely but would love to insert some new inspiration into my final combos. I don’t know the sex of bebe so here’s what I’ve got . . .
Girls
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
middle name ideas which are family names are [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Jane[/name]
The husband is really set on [name]Esme[/name] so I might only have middle names to play with for the girl combo. I really like vintage, classic names - but nothing too trendy or popular, and I’d like it to be easy to pronounce in French. I’m also a bit of a tree hugger at heart so I’d love to play around with a zany, earthy, flower power middle name like [name]Flora[/name], [name]Posy[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Delphine[/name] or something clunky like [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Clementine[/name] just to have fun with the name. As it’ll be a [name]July[/name] baby a summer inspired name would be fitting too.
I’m rambling . . . any thoughts? advice? combos?
For boys I like [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] with the middle name probably being [name]Nolan[/name]. The hubby has just come up with [name]Lucien[/name] and he also loves [name]Silas[/name]. I lean towards [name]Leo[/name] for the first name. I have also bounced around the name [name]August[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] . . .
I think [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Alice[/name] would be stunning for a little girl, but you’ve got great names to play with here. Since she is a [name]July[/name] baby, [name]Juliet[/name] would be so fitting, but you could also honor her birth month with a stone or flower name - the red ruby is [name]July[/name]'s birth stone, and the larkspur and water lily are [name]July[/name]'s birth flowers. [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is amazing, but [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is just as sweet and just a bit on the clunky, vintage side. [name]Lily[/name] is a bit on the overused side, but something like [name]Esme[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] is gorgeous, as would be [name]Esme[/name] Larkspur - quite the name for a little girl to live up to, right? [name]Just[/name] to throw out another name I think would be pretty, have you considered [name]Marguerite[/name]? I think it is so pretty, classic, elegant, and unusual nowadays. [name]Marguerite[/name] [name]Esme[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] is amazing, if you are open to two middle names - otherwise, [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is sweet!
On to the boy side, I’m in love with [name]Oliver[/name], especially if [name]Nolan[/name] is to be his middle name. [name]Leo[/name] [name]Nolan[/name] is just so-so to me, but I think [name]Leo[/name] is neat because it is one of the [name]July[/name] zodiac signs ([name]July[/name] 23 to [name]August[/name] 22) - if you think you can hold out until [name]July[/name] 23, [name]Leo[/name] could be a perfect name for you! I’m personally in love with [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Nolan[/name] [name]Silas[/name], if you like two middle names, just because it is so quirky yet handsome! [name]Lucien[/name] is neat, and I love it as a middle name for something like [name]Silas[/name], but not with either [name]Oliver[/name] or [name]Leo[/name] as first names. [name]Charles[/name] [name]Lucien[/name], again, is just so-so to me. What about [name]Leo[/name] [name]Olivier[/name]? A lot of O in there, but I think it is passable…
I love all your choices, most of them are on my list as well.
Its tough to narrow it down but I just love [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Jane[/name] or [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Jane[/name]([name]Josie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]) is adorable.
As for boy names, I have been tossing around [name]August[/name] for baby number 2 and my son’s name is [name]Jacob[/name] [name]Henry[/name](I call him [name]Henry[/name] 50% of the time). So my pick is [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]August[/name] [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] [name]August[/name].
[name]Lemon[/name] ” thanks for all the great ideas. I like the idea of two middle names and have decided to combine a family name with a name I love but am not brave enough to use as the first name! I love all my girls” names equally so I”ll probably agree to hubby’s first pick of [name]Esme[/name] . . . [name]Esme[/name] [name]Violet[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Esme[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Esme[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Alice[/name] hmmm ” I think they”re all fun! I”m keeping the other fantastic combos you mentioned in my back pocket in case I decide [name]Esme[/name] doesn”t fit with the baby or for the next baby.
I agree that [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Nolan[/name] is great and it”s a frontrunner and [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Nolan[/name] [name]Silas[/name] is pretty awesome! I really love [name]Leo[/name] . . . any middle name suggestions for [name]Leo[/name] or [name]Lucien[/name]?
riemerville ” I”m keeping [name]Henry[/name] and [name]August[/name] in the mix too ” such strong classic names!
My 2 year old son is named [name]Leo[/name] and I [name]LOVE[/name] the name. I love the name [name]August[/name] as well, but my husband was not a fan. We get many compliments on his name, and although it’s not super unusual, I’ve only ever met one other [name]Leo[/name]. My son is [name]Leo[/name] [name]Rowan[/name]. Lots of O, but it suits him.
I love [name]Esme[/name] [name]Violet[/name] [name]Jane[/name]! Does that work with your last name? [name]Esme[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is a stunner, too.
[name]Leo[/name] would be a great sibling for [name]Esme[/name], if you ever have a boy and girl. [name]Leo[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name] is one of my favorites, but [name]Leo[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Paul[/name] is amazing with [name]Esme[/name] [name]Violet[/name] [name]Jane[/name]! Other ideas…
I really love [name]Esme[/name] [name]Violet[/name] [name]Jane[/name] too and yes it does work with our last name! It could be the final girl name!
I agree that [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] are great together and I remember DH mentioning [name]Sebastian[/name] so I think we’d both be happy with [name]Sebastian[/name] as a middle name or maybe [name]Leo[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]. I think I still prefer [name]Leo[/name] over [name]Lucien[/name] but I could compromise of course if DH is set on [name]Lucien[/name]. We’d have to agree on how to pronounce [name]Lucien[/name] - I’d say it with the French pronounciation and the hubby with the English.
I think I’m slowly getting there . . .
Thanks again!
