It is really easy to lose control of a nickname, so I’m always wary of planning on a nickname. Also, I’m not sure [name_m]Homer[/name_m] would appeal to most people. I get the literary background but in this day and age I think you might hear more than a few "do’oh"s
I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Willem[/name_m] is the boys winner! It has so much spunk and I actually prefer the Dutch [name_m]Willem[/name_m] more than [name_m]William[/name_m]. The girls are a little tougher because you have four wonderful first names. I will choose the best combo for each name in order of preference.
I really like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] doesn’t sound right to me. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is pretty but [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] just don’t sound right with it especially [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] is very pretty but there are so many Ellies out there! [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] sound best with [name_m]Willem[/name_m].
I like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] & [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Willem[/name_m]. They sound good together. I don’t like any of the other boy names, though. They sound too old-manish for me. For girls I also liked [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I like [name_u]Rafe[/name_u], though. [name_m]Homer[/name_m] will always be [name_m]Homer[/name_m] [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] to me though, regardless of the gravitas brought to the name by the mythology.
Out of your girls, I like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] the best, though I also really love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u]), with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as a close second. I’ve always loved the nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f] for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as well. [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is nms. I prefer [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] out of all your mn choices.

On your boy’s list, like others, the only one I would reject is [name_m]Homer[/name_m]–I think Mr. [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] is too powerful an association. And like others again, my clear favorite is [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Willem[/name_m].
As far as the girl’s list, I don’t think you can go wrong; you have some splendid choices. My two favorites are [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. All of them are lovely and it was a very tough decision to decide my which ones are my favorites!
In fact I think you could just call her [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] - it’s so stunning and mythical! Totally in love and MUCH prefer this feminine name on a girl than [name_f]Peaches[/name_f] Geldof’s mistake giving it to her son… [name_m]Just[/name_m] wrong.
