Baby due soon, please help!

So I’ve posted here previously in regard to our third pregnancy - when I made the post I was very early and we ended up having an early miscarriage.

I am now pregnant with our rainbow baby and they are due very soon and we genuinely have no girl names that we love. We are no longer fond of the girl names on our previous list. Our boy choices are [name_m]Elias[/name_m], [name_m]Elio[/name_m] or [name_m]Emile[/name_m] (not looking for boy name advice).

The only names we both like are: [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] (I don’t want an L name as I don’t want to repeat initials) and [name_f]Selene[/name_f]. We also like [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but it’s too popular and my partner dislikes [name_f]Willa[/name_f].

Any thoughts on [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Selene[/name_f] or alternative name suggestions?

We prefer names that are short (~ 5 letters or three short syllables or less)

I just feel really lost and wish we had solid options I felt confident about going into birth. I’m not sure why I feel apprehensive on every girl name.

Very sorry about your early mc, and congratulations for your soon to be rainbow baby.

I understand not wanting to repeat the L initial, but it seems most of your contenders do contain an L sound besides [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], so perhaps you are drawn to that.

[name_f]Marisol[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] / [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Sable[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Soleil[/name_f]

others that may fit your vibe are

[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Serene[/name_f] / [name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] / [name_f]Jasmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Sierra[/name_f] / [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] / [name_f]Senna[/name_f]

I know the feeling of being apprehensive toward your list. I ended up figuring out a name I truly love and think you will do the same!

Great boys’ picks!

I like [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] ( ) and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is sleek, international and charming. [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is warm, unexpected and cosy.

If I were to suggest some:

[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Vita[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Alba[/name_f]

Thank you! And very true about the L sound, that doesn’t bother me as long as the names themselves don’t sound the exact same if that makes sense! I wanted my children to have their own individual first initial.

Also thank you for the lovely suggestions, I’ll see what my partner thinks. Some are names we’ve previously discussed actually so definitely on the same wavelength. We’re both equally indecisive but we also feel like once we meet baby we’ll know their name.

Thank you, I really appreciate it ! I just want to make sure we pick a solid name and nothing awful and heard mixed opinions on both [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] which I think hasn’t helped me + end of pregnancy hormones lol

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] suggestions, I’ll see my partner thinks!

I love [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]!

You have a strong list. They’re all wearable and anyone who thinks otherwise just has different taste.

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] are on my long list so I enjoy them both. [name_f]Selene[/name_f] is a lovely name but I find it a little too similar in sound to A’s name. I like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] the most with your daughters.

Very sorry that your journey towards baby no.3 was filled with the sadness of a miscarriage and hugest congratulations wishing you all the best with this rainbow baby :rainbow:

From your list [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] + [name_f]Selene[/name_f] really appeal to me. I have a soft spot for [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] but [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Selene[/name_f] are more me I just like the softer sounds. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is on my own personal list she’s whimsical, ethereal and definitely feels stylish as vintage ‘nickname’ style names are very popular. Of course [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is a name in her own right but she has that nickname feel due to her having the ie ending off [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_m]Alfie[/name_m], [name_m]Ronnie[/name_m] etc that people like. Anyways in a nutshell [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] with her beautiful forest inspired meaning is gorgeous. Concerning [name_f]Selene[/name_f] I think she’s so elegant, refined, cultured, starry and romantic. A lovely name that feels very timeless. [name_f]Selene[/name_f] I think would be the least unexpected, less on trend name that I think if you want that surprising element would be the one as [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] + [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] do feel very on trend with the vintage name trend that is fashionable currently.

You’ve had lots of lovely suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], and [name_f]Selene[/name_f] are all beautiful.

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] has a gorgeous meaning (from the forest), and my absolute favorite sound. I think it’s beautiful, soft, bright, energetic. The one caveat is I think it is the most of the three to jump in popularity, as I’ve seen it on a lot of short lists lately.

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] strikes me as unique yet timeless. It’s similar to the much more popular [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], but unique and the meaning songbird is excellent. It is associated with the vampire girl from Hotel Transylvania, but it’s a sweet association and not so strong it overpowers the name.

[name_f]Selene[/name_f] feels so dark and mysterious. I feel like it’s the most unexpected of the three to me, and has another great meaning (moon). [name_f]Selene[/name_f] also feels very mature and powerful to me.

Some names I think are similar in style to your list:

[name_f]Anya[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Winter[/name_f]
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Indigo[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f]

All such good choices. [name_f]Love[/name_f]. I would want to go with [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f].

Maybe:
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]

[name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Skylar[/name_f]
[name_f]Sasha[/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], and [name_f]Selene[/name_f] are all gorgeous. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorite is [name_f]Mavis[/name_f].

The names you have on your list are cute. They would all serve your child well. But if you’re still unsure and aren’t in love, we can throw other suggestions at you. (Maybe it will be a boy, and it sounds like you have boy options you love!)
