Baby girl #2 and stumped for a girl name on par with our first...feedback please?

Hello!

We just found out we are having our second little lady and I’m looking for some suggestions for rare, yet accessible names (ie, not popular but hopefully with somewhat intuitive pronunciation/spelling). Our last name starts with a D, is four syllables long, and is very Italian. This baby will be half Italian, and the other half is a mix of [name_m]French[/name_m], Irish, English, Canadian. Having a name that is culturally congruent would be preferable, along with a name that isn’t too long, since our last name is a mouthful. Our first daughter’s name is a [name_m]French[/name_m] surname that ends in an “o” sound and is three syllables long…I seem to gravitate towards “o” ending names but I think rhyming is a bit much for a sibling name, so those are all out. I’m not sure whether I should continue the surname trend or whether we should start from scratch.

So far my list is rather sparse and I’m not in love with any of them. I would love some feedback and suggestions please…honest opinions welcome!

Faviana - probably a front runner for me, flows well with last name and hopefully would be easy for people to spell/pronounce

[name_f]Chiara[/name_f] - love the name and meaning but I worry about pronunciation issues, as we live in the states

[name_f]Xanthia[/name_f] - just doesn’t seem right when I say it out loud…plus our daughter’s name ends in an “x” so I wonder if people will comment on having an “unusual” letter in both of their names, or whether I’m just overthinking it

[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] - [name_m]French[/name_m] name I love, husband can’t stand it

[name_f]Senara[/name_f] - name he loves, I can’t stand it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I like Faviana best from your list.

[name_f]Senara[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Sonora[/name_f] and [name_f]Soraya[/name_f].
Faviana reminds me of [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] and [name_f]Flavia[/name_f].

Maybe
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]
[name_f]Renata[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
Evanglique
[name_f]Oceane[/name_f]
[name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_f]Melisande[/name_f]

Out of the names you have, I’d go with Faviana or [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] since they seem to be your favourites. I wouldn’t use [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] or [name_f]Senara[/name_f] because either you or him dislike the name. Other ideas with the Italian/Latin/[name_m]French[/name_m]/place names sound maybe [name_f]Feliciana[/name_f], [name_f]Felicia[/name_f], [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Abriana[/name_f], [name_f]Adriana[/name_f], [name_f]Abree[/name_f], Abriella, [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Gianna[/name_f], [name_f]Briella[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Brie[/name_f], [name_u]Milan[/name_u], [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Venice[/name_f], [name_u]Roma[/name_u], [name_f]Italia[/name_f], [name_u]Paris[/name_u], [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]. Other versions of [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] or [name_f]Senara[/name_f] you guys might think about [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Diana[/name_f], [name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Selena[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f].

For [name_f]Xanthia[/name_f]… This is my personal favourite from the list. If it doesn’t sound right have you thought about [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] or [name_f]Xanthene[/name_f]? I don’t think that the letter x being in both your children’s names is a problem.

I would go with [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] is lovely! And I don’t think you’ll have a pronunciation issue (I grew up in the northeast, and knew 3 Chiaras growing up).
Other options:
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f]/[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Emanuela[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilaria[/name_f]
[name_f]Frederika[/name_f]
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Orelia[/name_f]

I love how [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]. I’ll admit I don’t know how you would pronounce it but it looks pretty.
Suggestions:
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Liana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Janessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Graciela[/name_f]
[name_f]Ciara[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]

@shanade - I love [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] but I found out there is a potential TV game of thrones association…I don’t watch the show so I’m not sure how strong that association would be for most people but it’s definitely going on the list! Thank you!

@evelinrose - thank you for your suggestions! Unfortunately we have a [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] in our extended family! Large families certainly complicate trying to name a little one!
