Hello all, I am pregnant with my 3rd daughter and need serious name help. We have an “L” name theme going, although it was never planned. We plan to keep the “L” theme since our favorite boy names begin with L as well. Big sisters names are [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]. So far, I think I am (mostly) settled on [name_f]Luna[/name_f] for her first name, but need help with a middle.
Favorite middle options so far are only [name_u]Austin[/name_u] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], but not sure if they sound right? I have been dying to name one of my daughters [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] for years but it never works out. Also, another favorite of mine has always been [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] or [name_u]Indie[/name_u]. Does anybody have any suggestions here?
Also, some other L name options that we are considering:
Lennox/Lennon- not in love with either one, but I’m not in love with [name_f]Luna[/name_f] either unless I find the perfect middle name.
Logan- too masculine compared to the other girls?
Luca-- too masculine??

I think [name_f]Luna[/name_f]’s lovely but maybe not right if you’re not in love with it and I think the others are too masculine along with your other girls. Some L name suggestions:
I think Luna and Lucy are a bit too close, personally. And they both have the same nickname, Lou.
Logan is definitely very masculine to me, and so is Luca though it’s better.
If you REALLY can’t find an L name you absolutely love, use Penelope! Finding a name that’s perfect for your little girl is more important than following a pattern.

Luna works with your daughter’s names whereas the others are too masculine to me. Although I do have a bit of a soft spot for [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] for a girl… but considering how feminine your girls’ names are it’d seem a bit odd.
Have you considered [name_f]Luella[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Liv[/name_f]? Or even [name_f]Leni[/name_f]? I think these, especially [name_f]Liv[/name_f], are lovely with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (which I love) and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
Luna middle ideas ([name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] would be lovely, BTW):

I definitely think that [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]/Lennon, [name_u]Logan[/name_u] & [name_u]Luca[/name_u] are all awfully boyish. Anyway, if you do decide to go w/Luna, [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] sounds just perfect. I do really like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] as well though. It sounds very celestial. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] is kind of meh to me. [name_u]Austin[/name_u] is masculine. Unless [name_u]Austin[/name_u] has some sort of special significance to you, then it’d be fine.
I love your older girls’ names! [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is very sweet, but seems maybe a little too close to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? I think I might still prefer it to your other options, though, just because they seem quite different from [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] stylistically (I do like [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] though!). And I think [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] makes a great combo. I love the previous suggestion of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] with your sibset–still an “L” name, but otherwise completely different sounds. Or [name_f]Lena[/name_f] would go beautifully! It’s really close to [name_f]Luna[/name_f], but that different vowel sound sets it apart. Other “L” options that I like with your daughters (repeats are seconds): [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Livia[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. If you love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] more than [name_f]Luna[/name_f], which I think maybe (?), then that is what you should name her. It is much more important to choose the name you love than to follow a pattern or theme. Maybe [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] (spelled this way if you were considering [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u]), Or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and you would still have the L name. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Lola[/name_f] works too. Good luck in choosing one you love.
Lennon, [name_u]Logan[/name_u] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u] are all spunky names, but I do think they are too masculine next to very feminine names like [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! [name_f]Luna[/name_f] fits perfectly with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], so [name_f]Luna[/name_f] has my vote. I also like that they all have four letters and two syllables.
Luna [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] doesn’t flow perfectly so that might be tripping you up, but it still sounds beautiful, and looks lovely written down. It definitely has my vote!
The flow of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] is better, but I don’t think the names match at all. [name_u]Austin[/name_u] doesn’t sound very feminine to me, especially next to [name_f]Jade[/name_f] and [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f].
Luna [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or could you use [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as her first name but use the nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f] to tie her into the “L” theme you have going?
