[name]Hi[/name] all, I have been reading Nameberry for a few years and just joined today. We are not finding out if we are having a boy or girl until the birth, so we are deciding on names for both. We have our boy name chosen for a long time. But our girl name is proving difficult for me. I originally suggested the name [name]Arden[/name] for a girl name to my husband and he loved it, and seems to have his heart set on it. I loved it too before I got pregnant and now that I am, I feel not as confident. I am not sure if its just the pregnancy hormones! The other name I suggested to him is [name]Ava[/name], which I know is super popular even in Australia where we live. We both do love that [name]Arden[/name] is not popular, but actually we have both never heard this name on anyone so its difficult to imagine. The other thing I am not sure on is a nickname for [name]Arden[/name]. I love that both names have references to birds.
Please help me out by sharing your comments and thoughts?
[name]Arden[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is lovely as for nn you could use [name]Ari[/name] like pp poster suggested also Denna/[name]Denny[/name], [name]Enna[/name], Arro
Thank you so much for all your comments so far. We would be pronouncing it AR-den. I have thought about the Garden association but not sure if it’s enough to put us off. The other middle name we have is [name]Grace[/name], but I like [name]Rose[/name] better.
We like the suggestion of the nickname [name]Ari[/name] which is cute.
I still like [name]Ava[/name] though but just worried about all the other [name]Ava[/name]'s she will come across.
I think [name]Arden[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is really pretty! [name]Love[/name] the nickname [name]Ari[/name]!
[name]Ava[/name] is gorgeous but its also super popular- depends how much that bothers you I guess. Personally I think [name]Arden[/name] is much more unique-
Some other ideas:
[name]Aviana[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Avalon[/name]
Allora
[name]Eden[/name]
I love [name]Arden[/name] and the fact that it is more unique than [name]Ava[/name]. I wouldn’t worry about the garden association - how often will she use both names?
However, if you really like [name]Ava[/name], I would consider a name where [name]Ava[/name] could be a nn. That way, if she runs into too many [name]Ava[/name]'s, she could use her full name. [name]Avalon[/name] would be my first choice. But you could go with [name]Avery[/name] as well.
