Not too long ago I made a thread here and asked for help to pick between [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f], now I’m here again for two reasons. #1 is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] became a name we don’t want on your daughter thanks to some thing that happened recent and made the name sound not so good for our baby girl. #2 is my sister was gonna give my favorite name to her daughter, but she just found out it’s actually a boy and made my beloved name available for me again. Now I’m stuck between [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Anya[/name_f].
I would pick [name_f]Anya[/name_f] with my eyes closed anytime because of what it means to me, but I’m not sure if [name_f]Anya[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] flows nicely, so [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is still an option in case it doesn’t. I’m someone who loves nicknames and I can do that with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] going for [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], I can’t do this with [name_f]Anya[/name_f] but I don’t mind, as I said the name means a lot to me but I don’t want my baby to have a name that just doesn’t work (trust me, I have one, it’s not good) and I’m a bit biased so I can’t really tell if it’s good or not. What do you guys think? Is [name_f]Anya[/name_f] a good fit? Or would you go with [name_f]Ella[/name_f]?
I think the flow is very nice. [name_f]Anya[/name_f] St. L-- is pretty and distinctive name. Both your choices sound good with the surname. Good luck!

I would choose [name_f]Anya[/name_f]. I think it’s a beautiful name and great with the surname. There’s nothing wrong with [name_f]Ella[/name_f], but [name_f]Anya[/name_f] just has that special something! It also has nickname potential: I love [name_f]Annie[/name_f], and there’s [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Nan[/name_f], [name_f]Nancy[/name_f].
(As an aside it really annoys me when one family member thinks they own a name and stops another using it! You have loved this name too and your feelings are just as important as your sister’s!)
Sounds to me like [name_f]Anya[/name_f] is the one for you.

(And it’s not like she owned it, it just that she said she was gonna name her baby [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and I didn’t want the two of them to have the same name, it took us a lot of time to find out we’re having a girl and when we did she had already decided to use it even though she didn’t knew if it was a girl yet, so I went looking for other options. I loved so many names I found, but they all lack the feeling [name_f]Anya[/name_f] has. And thank you again!)
There’s no other name that gaves me the same feeling, I can’t say or hear it without smiling. I was just scared I thought the combination was great because I love it too much, it happened to my mom and my name ended up being a mess. lol Thank you so much!

[name_f]Anya[/name_f] St. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is a lovely name that conjures up beauty. It’s unique and original without being over-the-top. She’ll most likely be the only [name_f]Anya[/name_f] in her class. I have several children known by their first names only because they are unique, beautiful, yet traditional names and have been around for centuries… They love being known by their first names. You don’t need a nickname for [name_f]Anya[/name_f], but when/if it happens, it will be the right one.
Go with [name_f]Anya[/name_f] it’s way less popular and flows nicely with your last ame
