I love both [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] for you! [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is such a wonderful name, and if you want a shorter name it’s a great choice for all the reasons you mentioned. I adore [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] as well. It’s a little longer and has a lot of pronunciation possibilities going on, but I think if you love it it’s worth it. Either choice would be excellent, but I’m thinking [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is the best one for you.

I’m not wild about [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] simply because it’s a little too on-the-nose with regard to the aurora borealis being associated with wintery places. [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f] are both nice, but for me they don’t have the same appeal that [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] do.

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is an amazing name!! I’d love to meet a little girl with this name! You could always shorten it to [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_f]Ria[/name_f] etc.

Good luck to you with finding a name!

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] are so beautiful! I voted for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] since I prefer names that could have a nickname or two in case the kid ends up disliking their name

I say go with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], as you seem to love that one and it fits all the criteria you’re looking for. [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is stunning.

I surprised myself by voting for [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] because, on its own, it isn’t my favorite of your fn options. But [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is far and away the most beautiful combo! Absolutely stunning. <3

I like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], but if you think you will get sick of the long name, go for [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (or [name_f]Layla[/name_f]/[name_f]Leila[/name_f]). Personally I prefer the middle names switched around … [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] … but they are nice as is too.

A few other ideas …

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] (I like this pronounced [name_m]LAY[/name_m]-oh-nee, cute nature meaning of lion)
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Raina[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Raisa[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]

I like the cadence of [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] when spoken. It’s easier on the ears. I like the short feminine name [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] that rolls off the tongue nicely. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is a mouthful and would be mispronounced a lot.

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is an incredibly beautiful, stunning name!! I also like the [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] combo, but [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] definitely gets my vote!

I voted for [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] - what a great combo! My second choice is [name_f]Layla[/name_f]. I’m not keen on the others, and I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] are hard to say.

Thank you so much everyone for taking the time to vote and respond. It’s really interesting to see [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] up there as those are the two that most stick in mind (well, I did skew the [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] one by saying I tended towards it, but still…). It definitely helps narrow it down further. Thanks for suggestions on shortening [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] (I think that’s what we’d end up doing - my husband likes [name_u]Ray[/name_u] because it combines his two favourite grandparents names [name_u]Royce[/name_u] and [name_f]May[/name_f] though that really only works phonetically.). The reasons for preferring one or the other have also been really insightful and along similar lines of what we’ve been thinking. Now just hoping that it’s true what so many people say: you meet the baby and you just know.

Huge thanks again for your advice and additional suggestions. Much appreciated!

Voted for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] but the more I think about it maybe I like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] better. It’s beautiful as is, but I love it with the middles switched:

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
