My husband and I have gone back and fourth with names. He likes VERY traditional names and I like old fashioned not super crazy names. We have chosen a middle name that I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] ([name_u]Valentine[/name_u]) and her last initial will be H. We are in desperate need of ideas.
Here are some we like but neither of us are SOLD on:
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is a lovely middle name, but from what you described of both your styles of names, the only one that seems to fit the bill is [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. The others to be honest come across less traditional and more trendy, but that’s okay too.
Some suggestions: [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
I think as we are both first time parents we have no idea what style of name really suits us as my husband who has pushed the traditionalism offered [name_u]Brin[/name_u] as an option which I think is super trendy! Thanks for the suggestions, [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is going into the running!
I’m glad you liked [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! I just thought of a couple of more names: [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Helen[/name_f]/[name_f]Helena[/name_f]/[name_f]Elena[/name_f]/[name_f]Eleni[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]!
Some more suggestions (sorry if there are any repeats!):
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (it might be too much for you, but I think [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] and [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] are adorable)
[name_f]Alta[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (she could also be a [name_f]Cora[/name_f] or [name_f]Delia[/name_f])
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] or [name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (could be [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] or [name_u]Frannie[/name_u])
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (could be [name_f]Hattie[/name_f])
[name_f]Myra[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (she could be [name_f]Sally[/name_f] and/or [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] with that one)
I think you may like names that sound like they might have been around a while, but that feel completely current too. I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] both fit this description.
I really love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] from your list
Some suggestions are:
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabell[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is a very pretty middle name. I’m feeling that a first name with an “L” in it and ending with either “A” or “E” would sound best.
My suggestions (I’ve seen a couple of these names on previous posts and I love them!)
If you prefer the letter “C” to “K” you could always swap those out =]
I’m more of a “K” person.
Also, I apologize if theses names are far off from what you’re looking for, these are just names that I think would flow nicely with your chosen middle name.
I was thinking, have you considered [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]? That’s a cute variation that you may not have thought of.
Both are beautiful, though. I hope this post was helpful! I’m curious to see what name you pick for your little girl.
We are leaning towards [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] (it was my great grandmother’s name). I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] as the middle name and I do not want to let it go! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] sounds weird? I’m almost willing to ignore the weirdness because I love [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] so much and I think [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] is so sweet.
Thank you! You don’t know how hard it’s been to decide on a name! It’s kind of been a nightmare to agree on something, but I think we have a winner. [name_m]Cross[/name_m] your fingers!!!
My two daughters are [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] & [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]!
While Lacey Valentine flows well, it also just makes me think of heart shaped doilies on Valentine’s Day. If you don’t mind that, go for it, as I know you are honoring someone with the name Lacey….
I dislike [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] on a girl. I prefer [name_f]Valentina[/name_f].
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] - Dislike [name_u]Reese[/name_u].
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] - Sweet and simple.
[name_u]Dana[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] - I dislike [name_u]Dana[/name_u]. I like [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f].
[name_f]Lacey[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] - I dislike [name_f]Lacey[/name_f]. Also, it feels like a nickname.
