[name]Just[/name] looking for some feedback on the name [name]Marlow[/name] for a baby girl… I haven’t heard of many people using it but I’m really starting to like it.
Well, I’m planning on using [name]Marlow[/name] as a middle for a girl, but… the name has a lot of significance to my husband and I. It’s the name of a character in several [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Conrad[/name] novels, without whom we may never have met or gotten to know each other. Anyway, the reason I mention that is that [name]Marlow[/name] has a meaning - “driftwood” - that is lame… that is, unless you’ve read those [name]Conrad[/name] novels, which makes it awesome.
I mean, I’d sort of hate to have a fairly masculine name that meant “driftwood” and the only reason that my momma picked it was that it sounded cool, y’know? So, I’d pair it with a feminine middle that had a complementary meaning. Or pick up a copy of [name]Lord[/name] [name]Jim[/name] and find a reason to like it.
