Baby girl name advice

Ok I need some advice!

I LOVE the name [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] for baby girl, I have always loved this name so much growing up, I think it’s so beautiful!

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband has 3 sisters and two of them have names that are “Ella” ending [name_f]Anabella[/name_f] & [name_f]Daniella[/name_f]. Third sisters name is different, no “ella” ending. Also my MIL name is Romela (ela sounding but one l).

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think picking the name [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] is too similar to his sisters and family? :frowning: this is the only thing holding me back from using [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]. Maybe im over thinking it, I don’t know.

Thoughts?

Other names I like: [name_f]Adelina[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Gia[/name_f]

Since they are not her siblings, it’s fine in my opinion. Are the sisters (and MIL) nice people? If so, that may even be a pro.

They are nice people yes. Except one of the sisters can get on my nerves lol

Its not really that similar! I say go for it!

I think you should still use it. It’s not enough of a similarity . I wouldn’t think there is meaning there unless someone told me there was.

Not too similar - use it!

Definitely use it! It wouldn’t be common to be saying your baby’s name together with their aunt’s name. And the beginnings are similar enough to not make it too confusing.

In general all [name_f]Ella[/name_f] names sound similar to me, because they all rhyme and sound sing-song-y.

I don’t think [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] is too similar for niece/aunt. The first part is different enough that I would use it, if it where the name. Honestly I feel [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] is more similar despite not ending in ella. It shares all the same letters as [name_f]Daniella[/name_f] and almost sounds like a combination of Anabella/Daniella with a different ending.

It’s actually quite a sweet connection! Despite the similar endings, the names are all different enough not to get mixed up. It really sounds like [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] is The One for you, go for it!

If none of them go by [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and/or you aren’t planning to use [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nickname if that’s a factor than I wouldn’t worry about it. Its a common ending names can have. And I think its even a subtle nod to her aunts which is sweet. But I dont think it would really be thought about much!

While I personally wouldn’t be into it, I don’t think it’s something to give up your favorite name over. -ella is a very common ending on longer feminine names, I don’t think anyone will assume you picked the name to be matchy.

I think it would actually be a nice way to link her to her family!

I think she would enjoy having a name that is similar to her aunts!

I think it’s fine! I think his sisters would feel honored if they even noticed :]
