I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. You could also call her [name_u]Nelly[/name_u], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. They’re both pretty names, good luck!
I chose [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I think the “[name_f]Maddy[/name_f]” names are very popular right now and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] will be more unique.
I voted [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. My cousin’s daughter’s name is [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], but instead pronounced mad-ah-line. Most people seem to pronounce it that way, so a [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] whose name is pronounced mad-ah-lin might encounter some pronunciation issues.
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] wouldn’t necessarily be the nickname everyone automatically calls a [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]; the stressed syllable in [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is [name_f]NEL[/name_f]. And your husband has a point when he says that [name_u]Penny[/name_u] won’t be said with your last name (especially if you always introduce her as [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]).

Thank you for the replies!!! I’m so surprised to see the numbers swinging in favor of [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], but pleasantly so. I worried it might be seen as too out there, with [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] being the more mainstream choice. Also glad to see that [name_u]Penny[/name_u] isn’t necessarily an unavoidable nickname!
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I prefer it over [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
The two girls named [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] I have been blessed to know in my lifetime went by [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] as nicknames. [name_m]Just[/name_m] start calling her what you want (if you even want a nickname!) and everyone else should follow!
