[name_m]Hi[/name_m] All!
My wife and I are struggling to narrow this list down, and we have 7 weeks to go! I like alliteration (K/K sound or hard C/K), she wants something a “little bit different”. Shooting for 2 syllables because we want to be able to possibly shorten names. Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. We’re Jewish and Irish. Middle name is “[name_f]Clara[/name_f]” (my grandmother’s name), last name is “Katcher”. So, it’s ____ [name_f]Clara[/name_f] Katcher.
Here’s our “short list”:
[name_f]Alana[/name_f], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Casey[/name_u], [name_u]Jordyn[/name_u], [name_f]Kaley[/name_f], [name_f]Keira[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], Maryn, [name_f]Eliana[/name_f].
[name_f]Keira[/name_f] is our front runner, but we think it might sound funny with the middle name.
Open to suggestions that aren’t on this list as well. Thanks!
[name_f]Keira[/name_f] Katcher does sound good but the middle name [name_f]Clara[/name_f] does make it sound a little odd. For me that’s not a deal breaker because it isn’t often you hear all three names together. If you weren’t opposed to honoring [name_f]Clara[/name_f] with a similar name I think [name_f]Keira[/name_f] [name_f]Clarise[/name_f] Katcher flows a little better. The name from your list that I think fits best with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] in the middle is [name_f]Kaley[/name_f].
The C/K options are all too tongue-twistery for me. I keep saying __ [name_f]Clara[/name_f] Klatcher. Of the others I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] sounds the best, followed by [name_u]Jordyn[/name_u] (I prefer [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] spelling though). I don’t like the -a ending ones with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] as much. Can you just use [name_f]Clara[/name_f] as a first name? [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] would be cute.
[name_f]Kiera[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] Klatcher is a mouthful. [name_u]Casey[/name_u] sounds slightly better, but I prefer [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] or [name_f]Marin[/name_f].
