[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there, expecting our first in [name_f]May[/name_f] 2017! Our top two names are [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. We want to use a family name for the middle (either [name_u]Gene[/name_u] (man’s spelling but was husbands grandma or [name_f]Ann[/name_f] for my grandmas and me)). I like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Gene[/name_u], but any thoughts on [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]???
I like the idea of [name_u]Gene[/name_u], but maybe use a feminine spelling like [name_u]Jean[/name_u] (feminine in [name_u]America[/name_u]) or [name_f]Jeanne[/name_f] (feminine in [name_f]France[/name_f])? [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] would be cute, I think. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] sounds better than [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] simply because I feel like the two names that end in -n get heavy in the mouth.
I love [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]! Wonderful choice!
I like [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Gene[/name_u] better than [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]. It makes [name_u]Gene[/name_u] way more feminine! I like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] better than [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Gene[/name_u] is cute. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_u]Gene[/name_u] would also be cute.
I don’t think you need to use a feminized version of [name_u]Gene[/name_u]. After all, [name_u]Harper[/name_u] herself used to be boys only. I like the sound of [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]. My only caution is that [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is just so insanely trendy that I feel like it’s going to date your little one for life, but if you’re aware of it and love it anyway, it’s beautiful and the little Harpers I know wear it well.
I don’t like [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Gene[/name_u] nearly as much, and I prefer [name_u]Gene[/name_u] as a middle to [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
I like both but definitely prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]. I think it’s beautiful and you can use the nick name [name_f]El[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], Lo
I like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Gene[/name_u] best!
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]!!
It sounds adorable and spunky yet elegant and I love it!
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] is so common it seems really boring compared to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
@summerskin 's [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] is also a nice suggestion!
Personally I don’t think [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is too much, but I still prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is one of my favourite names. Mush fresher and unexpected than [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Gene[/name_u] is a good combo. [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] would be gorgeous too.
