[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
I am due in Oct with first baby and girl. We have agreed on [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but most people seem to hate it. We love it. Wanted to hear some public thoughts…
I think [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] sounds fine. It’s a good balance of different lengths and levels of unusual-ness.
People might not like the repetitive aspect of the two Greek -E endings? If that doesn’t bother you, then I’d leave it alone. If it does, you can always add another middle name to break up the pattern. Something like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], etc. I don’t think it sounds bad at all, though. The only thing that might give me pause was if you had a last name that also ended in an E sound. Otherwise it’s fine.
I think it sounds beautiful! I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] to break up the two -E endings if it bothers you. Either way, beautiful!
I really like it. I don’t think the double -es are a problem since there is such a difference in length between the two names. The names go well together since they are both Greek and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is adventurous and fun to balance out cute but more common [name_f]Zoe[/name_f].
I find people tend to try and put pressure on you to pick something more “conventional” while you are still pregnant, but warm up once the baby arrives. That was my experience with naming our son [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m]. My dad literally kept texting me name ideas until about a week before I delivered. Now that the little one is here though nobody has a negative word to say.
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is really nice! The end sounds repeat but I think there is enough going on in between that it doesn’t matter much, and if you both love the name that’s what really matters!
I think it’s a beautiful and cool name. It’s true what another poster said - people who know you will react strangely to creative and bold names. It’s only conventional names that get an immediate “that’s lovely. What a nice choice.”
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is stunning! You’ll never please everyone with your name choice, even if it’s Top 10.
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is a perfectly nice, normal name and presumably she’ll be called that 99.9% of the time, so you’re hadly saddling her with anything particularly weird or wild. Stick to your guns!
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is lovely!
I adore [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]!
It is a lovely name. Sometimes others show disappointment for any name other than their favourite but name her what YOU love. I wouldn’t be concerned with the two “e” endings as she will be known as [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] (last name) and if they work nicely together you have a winner!
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is beautiful. I agree with other posters in that people will usually try to talk you out of or sound disappointed about names before a baby arrives if it’s not their exact style. But I don’t see anything wrong with what you’ve chosen, and if you love it, that’s the most important thing!
I like it! I think as other poster say, most people in real life have never heard [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] so it comes off as strange which people sometimes cant handle. I think its 100% usable and if you love it, keep it!
I like it!
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry what others say. A lot of couples are choosing to share gender, but not possible names before the baby is born because of the backlash.
A relative of mine didn’t share names, and when her daughter was born, I didn’t like the name, still don’t…but I love the baby, so it really doesn’t matter.
