My husband and I are having trouble deciding between [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] for our baby girl. Her two older brothers names are [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Jones[/name_m]. We want her to have a sweet and feminine name. Her middle name will be [name_u]Lee[/name_u] with [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as well.
I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is too ‘perfect pretty posh princessy’ for me. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] I love, though it is very sweet and I’m not sure if it would age well. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is a gorgeous name, I’m really crushing on it right now!
Prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. [name_f]Annabel/name_f [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is a morbid poem (later made into a song) by [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u]; some people may not know this, but it was my first thought. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] isn’t my style, and I don’t care for the “see - lee” combination.
If I’m going by preference alone, I’d say [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], with [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as my second choice. I have issues with all three–[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is too [name_u]Poe[/name_u] for me, [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] too rhymey, and I would rather see [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] (one name) to [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] (a combo)–but they’re all very pretty names. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] gets my vote, but I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is really sweet, too. I’m not sure which one is my favorite with [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Jones[/name_m], so I guess I’ll just keep to [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f].
I also thought of the [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] poem so I would avoid [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. Masie is sweet but I can’t picture it on an adult. I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is your best bet. i Think [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] or [name_f]Cora[/name_f] with a different middle name would be preferable. [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_m]Jones[/name_m] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is lovely, and I love that they all share the o’s.
I prefer [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] - [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] feels too cutesy and little-girl-y to me, and I don’t generally care for double first names (though just [name_f]Cora[/name_f] by itself would be lovely with [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Jones[/name_m]). I’m unfamiliar with the [name_u]Poe[/name_u] poem, so I’m totally unfazed by [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u].
I agree, [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] reminds me of the [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] poem, [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is a name that I have always adored, and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] can be made into [name_f]Coralee[/name_f] or [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] if you please
My favorite is [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] because I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is the best fit with [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Jones[/name_m]. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] would be cute too but alas, it’s sooo popular.
It would be interesting to keep the surname thing going with the girl too…
