Baby Girls named after States

I’m currently compiling a list of usable state names for baby girls. Suggestion and comments are welcome and encouraged. If possible I would appreciate suggestions for middle names that have something to do with nature, seasons or the elements.

So far I have compiled:

[name_f]Alaska[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]
[name_f]Arizona[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_u]California[/name_u] [name_u]Rain[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f]
Kansas ???

Kansas [name_f]Prudence[/name_f]? (I can make fun, I was born there).
Mississippi ?
[name_u]Indiana[/name_u] ?
[name_f]Missouri[/name_f] Francoise (first non-native inhabitants were [name_m]French[/name_m])

[name_f]Louisiana[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_u]Indiana[/name_u] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]
[name_u]Tennessee[/name_u] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

This isn’t for a real baby, is it? I can’t tell if it’s just for fun or not.

[name_f]Carolina[/name_f] is a pretty name. Apart from that I wouldn’t use state names as baby names.

Yeah, I agree with pp. The only usable state names are [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], the rest of them don’t sound like names to me, sorry.

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t forget [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]!

The only ones I would consider not horrible as names are [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], but the entire list of states that sound like they could be girl names is below

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_u]Indiana[/name_u]
[name_f]Louisiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_u]Tennessee[/name_u]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]

[name_u]Love[/name_u]
[name_u]Indiana[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
It’s on our list.

[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_u]Montana[/name_u]
[name_u]Nevada[/name_u]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]
[name_f]Arizona[/name_f]
[name_u]Indiana[/name_u]
[name_u]Texas[/name_u]

I think these state names are usable (although some are far less versatile than others):

[name_f]Alabama[/name_f]
[name_f]Alaska[/name_f]
[name_f]Arizona[/name_f]
[name_u]California[/name_u]
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]
[name_f]Florida[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_u]Indiana[/name_u]
[name_f]Louisiana[/name_f]
Minnesota
[name_f]Missouri[/name_f]
[name_u]Montana[/name_u]
Nebraska
[name_u]Nevada[/name_u]
[name_u]Tennessee[/name_u]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]
[name_m]Washington[/name_m]

[name_u]Indiana[/name_u] is a crush of mine. If you’re looking for something a little…er, corny, how about [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] [name_f]Maizie[/name_f] ([name_f]Maizie[/name_f] being corn related. I’ve always heard that [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] produces a lot of corn)

The best choices are [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], and [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] (because they are real names). Names that are associated with the states but still sound nice and familiar: [name_u]Dakota[/name_u], [name_u]Indiana[/name_u]. For a more adventurous choice: [name_f]Alaska[/name_f], [name_f]Alabama[/name_f], [name_f]Florida[/name_f] ([name_f]Flory[/name_f]), [name_f]Louisiana[/name_f] ([name_m]Louie[/name_m]), [name_u]Montana[/name_u], [name_u]Nevada[/name_u] ([name_f]Neva[/name_f]).

I can see the following US states being used on a baby girl…

[name_f]Alaska[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_u]Indiana[/name_u]
[name_u]Montana[/name_u]
[name_u]Nevada[/name_u]
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]

The state I live in in Australia is named [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

I have female ancestors named Mississippi (after the river), [name_u]Indiana[/name_u], & [name_f]Missouri[/name_f] (surname/tribe name).
