Baby girl is here and we’re still super torn on what name we like best! Lark & Verity have been our top choices for awhile, but while discussing names we discovered Jemima and we both very much like it as well, but as it is new to our list, we havent settled on a middle for it just yet. We would like to have her birth certificate filled out before we leave the hospital tomorrow.
If you’re in the USA, I would personally counsel you against [name_f]Jemima[/name_f]. [name_m]Or[/name_m] I would maybe push it to the middle. But she’s your daughter!
[name_f][/name_f]
Of these, I think [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] suits best with your girls followed by [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
Congratulations! I went with [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] in the end [name_f][/name_f]- so pretty and sparky! But [name_f]Verity[/name_f] was such a close, close second
[name_f][/name_f]
If you were to go with [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], I prefer the spelling without the H. [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f], [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f], or [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] would be nice
Congratulations! [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] would be darling! [name_f][/name_f] I really like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f], though.
You have a stunning list of names no wonder you’re struggling. I would just take your time and see whether one particular name suits your child or which one feels right for you.
[name_f][/name_f]
I know that [name_f]Lark[/name_f] has really stayed with you so I would choose an option that features your beloved [name_f]Lark[/name_f]. Personally I prefer [name_f]Verity[/name_f] she’s so elegant a pretty virtue name that feels warm and classic. I think [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] would be perfect for you features a names you both love and is so stylish.
Jemima Pearl doesn’t flow as well imo. It’s a bit pitter-pattery somehow. Was going to say Jemima Lark but it’s a double bird name. Would do that if meaningful to you. Certainly a very uplifting name!
As said, I also love Verity - Verity Lark or (more likely for me) Verity Willow would be my second pick.
Congratulations! I love [name_f]Lark[/name_f], and I think she works so well with your girls! [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is my favourite, it’s such a beautiful combo
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite spelling is [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— the ‘h’ just feels unnecessary.
I chose [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] just because those are two of my personal favorite names, but I truly think that [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] should be Baby’s name. It’s the one that you’ve seemingly loved the most and come back to time and time again. It has the same quirky, gorgeous magic as W and H’s names while standing beautifully on its own.
[name_f][/name_f]
As for [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] – if you are in the United States, I wouldn’t do it. It’s a beautiful name, but invariably tied to its racist roots and just doesn’t seem appropriate for a baby girl born in 2025. Perhaps someday it will be far enough removed from the association to be usable, but for now it just puts a sour taste in my mouth, as much as I wish it didn’t. You have two other gorgeous names on your list that don’t come with the baggage that [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] does, so I’d personally let that one go.
Congratulations, lady, so happy for you! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] feels so perfect for this sweet babe, and I couldn’t bring myself to vote for anything else.
[name_f][/name_f]
I have also been crushing on [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] lately—I think [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] or [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] would be dreamy! [name_f][/name_f] I’ve been wondering about Jemima’s usability myself—there used to be quite a controversy around it, and I’m feeling out how strong the ties are myself. [name_f][/name_f] Would love to encourage you to go fully toward [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], but if you’re American like me… I don’t know how much the controversy is fully past. [name_f][/name_f] Now minorly obsessed with [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] though—it’s ever so lovely! [name_f][/name_f] But I do really love [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] “Birdie” for you, and she fits so well with W!nry and Hol!day!
Congratulations! I am glad to hear that she is here safe and well.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Lark[/name_f] is such a bright, distinctive name! That’s my top choice (Lark Verity) but I adore [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] as well. I agree that [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] would be stunning (or [name_f]Lark[/name_f] Jemima).
[name_m]Just[/name_m] looking at the names alone, without knowing the full context of how you connect to each one and for how long, my vote went straight to [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. That is absolutely gorgeous, and I think [name_f]Vera[/name_f] or Veri would be the cutest nicknames (if you are into them). The flow is excellent, and I just think it’s perfect.
[name_f][/name_f]
If you’re American, I would strongly advise against [name_f]Jemima[/name_f]. From what I understand, the name does not carry the same racist connotations in other countries, so if you’re not in the US then disregard! It’s still not my top choice but objectively a very pretty name!
I love [name_f]Lark[/name_f], so [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] got my vote. I like [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] as well, though! [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is really pretty.
Congratulations on your daughter’s arrival! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Little[/name_m] bit late to this so you may have already decided. [name_f]My[/name_f] pick is [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] – it’s breathtakingly beautiful and has been one of my favourites for you for a while. I’m not an especially big fan of the sound of [name_f]Lark[/name_f], but I also simply prefer [name_f]Verity[/name_f] with your older daughters over [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and [name_f]Jemima[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
If you go with [name_f]Verity[/name_f], I don’t think you need to double down with [name_f]Lark[/name_f] for the nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. But I also just can’t get past the softness and contrast of [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. So lovely with [name_f]Verity[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
You could ask yourselves which name makes you the most sad to not use? Whatever name you choose, they’ll all great names and I’m sure you’ll be very happy with your choice.
Huge congratulations, hope everyone is safe and everything went smoothly
[name_f][/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] for you, but you honestly can’t go wrong!! [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] would be my second pick
