I saw a thread at one point about baby carriers, but couldn’t find it again for whatever reason. Anyway, have any of you used the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] K’tan wrap? I’m curious what people think of it. Good things? Bad things? I don’t really like the idea of having to learn to wrap a huge piece of fabric which is why the K’tan intrigued me. Thoughts on any other carriers?
I have a [name_m]Moby[/name_m] wrap, which I loved when my baby was little. I think she’s getting to be on the upper side of the weight limit :(. I know woven wraps can hold heavier babies, but I haven’t looked into those at all. I also have an ergo 360 which is pretty nice for bigger kids (and you can get an infant insert). My only complaint is that I still haven’t figured out how to put it on by myself, so it doesn’t work great for around the house.
I have a K’tan. I like fabric. It’s like a nice soft T-shirt. You can make the part that goes over your shoulder kind of wide almost like a short sleeve, which makes it more comfy. The baby seemed to like it. The weight limit is a bit exaggerated, though. I stopped using it when my baby was a bit under a year, and that was pushing it as far as being comfortable because the back support is just not enough.
It was the best around 1- 6 months old. When my son was a newborn I was a little too nervous about blocking his airway to use it, but when he was a bit stronger but still very small it was really great.
@shalexis: Did you find learning how to wrap the [name_m]Moby[/name_m] difficult? Also, does it have the long tail of fabric, or do you wrap it completely up? I can guarantee I will get a long tail of fabric caught in things or get it grabbed by one of our dogs. lol
@lovewn: Did your baby seem pretty secure with the K’tan? That’s probably my biggest concern. It looks awesome, but I would be nervous that it wouldn’t be snug enough since you can’t control that other than by what size you buy. Also, did you find the size pretty true?
@chelsanne22
I don’t think it’s hard at all. It comes with a diagram, and I’m sure there are lots of youtube videos. It is super long while you’re putting it on, so I always tried to do it before I left the house, but you wrap it and tie it and it isn’t all dangly or anything. Sorry to get back to you so late, I just saw this!
