Baby Marilise!

After long days and months debating and considering names and combinations we finally decided on a last minute suggestion my husband had on our way to the hospital.

At 8:10 pm on [name_f]April[/name_f] 26th our first child and daughter was born.

Marilise [name_f]Angelique[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]

The first name was all his idea, as we had finally decided we wanted a longer first name with the nickname [name_f]Mary[/name_f] that would honor my mother in law [name_f]Mary[/name_f] who passed away before she could become a grandma.

The middles were chosen by me, as I’ve always wanted to give my kids multiple middles.

[name_f]Angelique[/name_f] is in honor of my name, [name_f]Angelica[/name_f].
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is for my favorite flower, also our wedding flower.
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] is my mothers middle name which I chose to honor her with.

Congratulations. Marilise is a beautiful name. I gave all my kiddos three middle names, too. Sometimes I get grief about it, but I just wanted them to have little bits and pieces of the family to carry with them

Did you create the name or is it from a different culture? I haven’t heard of it before. Really cool.

Marilise is just lovely! Really individual and with a great sound. What a meaningful name choice, too. Congrats!

Marilise is beautiful! Congratulations

Thankyou! I have some family that gave me grief during my pregnancy when I told them my plan but i didn’t let them deter me and I doubt besides a teasing comment about how I actually did it they’ll ever mention it again, thankfully. I know some people prefer to keep it short and sweet but I myself had two middles and loved it personally, and i won’t be offfended if my kids decide to ignore one or two of the middles if they choose to later in life.

For being a huge name buff and nameberry nerd I hadn’t thought to double check the meaning and stats if the name before commiting to it, it just felt right. We had been in the car and going over uor short list if [name_f]Mary[/name_f] names which mostly consisted of a few I liked well enough, (like [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Marielle[/name_f], Maristella, [name_f]Maribelle[/name_f]) when he started tossing around a few ideas based on syllables he’d heard me mention in other name suggestions (Marilise was inspired by [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Elysia[/name_f]) He had no idea if anything he suggested was real or made up. We figured out a spelling we liked as we filled out the papers.

It wasn’t until the first day in recovery that I thought to look up the name. It turns out it does exist out there as being an Australian and [name_m]French[/name_m] with meaning of [name_f]Mary[/name_f], but is very rarely used at all. The name Marlise is more common and google kept thinking I meant that name so she might get confusion there from people trying to pronounce her name but most people seem to read it correct the first time.

Marilise has such a gorgeous, meaningful name! Congratulations!!!

Congratulations on beautiful Marilise! The common forms in Germany (where i live) are Marielouise or Marlise. So you chose a very special variation of that!

This is a stunning name, and you have given her an amazing legacy!
