Baby name advice

Expecting baby number 3 in [name_u]August[/name_u]. Unsure of gender right now but I love classic names or outdated names that everyone in their first grade class WONT have. [name_f]My[/name_f] first 2 are boys, [name_u]David[/name_u] [name_m]Jason[/name_m] and [name_u]Robert[/name_u] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. [name_u]David[/name_u] goes by [name_u]David[/name_u] and [name_u]Robert[/name_u] by [name_u]Robert[/name_u] but sometimes Robbie. If [name_u]Baby[/name_u] is a girl I really want to use the name [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandma is [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and my sister and best friends middle name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I know it sounds kind of old fashioned and maybe a little overly romantic but what are everyone’s thoughts. I know [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is old fashioned and outdated and there
Aren’t really any little Mary’s running around but I love the name. I would use it as [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
Oh her last name would be [name_m]Smith[/name_m].

As soon as I started reading your post I thought, “She needs to use Mary.” I think it’s the perfect choice.

[name_f]Mary[/name_f] is a great name, and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a very pretty and classic combo! I don’t think it’s too outdated by any means – [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is a classic and timeless name! But you’re right that it’s not as common as it used to be so hopefully she’ll be the only one in her class.

[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is sweet and charming!! I’ve got a teenaged [name_f]Mary[/name_f] at work and have known two little [name_f]Marys[/name_f] so it doesn’t seem too outdated to me!

[name_f]My[/name_f] only concern would be that ‘Mary Rose’ reminds me of The [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - a ship that sunk and you can go and see. I feel like that might be a very UK thing though or just a very me thing and not an issue at all!!

Either way, [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is great and matches with your boys!

[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is adorable: I love the name [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and I feel that it’s ripe for a comeback. I especially love its familial connections for you, it sounds absolutely perfect.

In response to @Greyblue’s concern re the [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], I also thought of the ship but I live in the city it’s associated with . I don’t think it’s a real concern, even for people living in the city because I doubt anyone would necessarily immediately connect the two, and even if they did, it’s not a terrible association? Maybe you could even bring your daughter to see the ship one day if you’re near enough?

I think [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous as a combo and a double name, and I would definitely say go for it for your little one!

Congratulations! We are also due in [name_u]August[/name_u] !!

[name_u]David[/name_u] and [name_u]Robert[/name_u] are such strong classics. I believe [name_f]Mary[/name_f] will fit right in too!

For boys I will suggest
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_m]Mark[/name_m] / [name_m]Marc[/name_m]
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]

I think [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a very sweet name! [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is very well-known but I feel like it’s not quite as common for kids today, so that’s nice if you don’t want her to be the fourth fifth kid with her name in her preschool class, haha.
