Baby name bracket - let's play! Round 1

My husband and I are desperately trying to pick a girl’s name for our baby who is due very soon (you may have seen my other posts lol!).

I thought it would be fun to do a baby name bracket on here and see what the “winning” name is. There will be 8 names pitted against each other in total, with the winning name from each bracket advancing to the next round. I’ll post a new bracket every other day to give more people time to vote!

As for the middle name, we had one picked out but have since put it aside and will select a middle name based on what goes with the first name we land on.

First up! Claire vs. Ella

I prefer the light, airy feel of [name_f]Ella[/name_f]

Both are so pretty, but [name_f]Ella[/name_f] has a more youthful, upbeat feel to me that I really love!

I prefer bright, crisp [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. It sounds like a bell!

I like both, but think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is likely to get lost in a sea of Ellies, Eleanors, etc. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is more distinctive to me.

This is definitely one thing we are taking into consideration - there seem to be quite a few “Ella-type” names gaining in popularity in recent years and even the [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and Ayla’s are similar.

Voted for [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] feels less trendy/era-specific.

I love [name_f]Ella[/name_f], but I adore [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! She’s a family name for me and one of my favorites of all time. I’m Team [name_f]Claire[/name_f] all the way! :heart:

Claire! Ella to me is just bland and is likely to be confused with Ellies, Eleanors, Elizabeths, Elenas, Ellianas, etc

Haha! [name_f]Every[/name_f] time I check back there is a different one in the lead by like 2%! I think this is a sign that Berries consider these equally nice names :slight_smile:

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I like how gentle that name feels. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Claire[/name_f], but this is a classic name and a good choice too.
