Baby name debate!

Hello all!

DH and I are stuck. We love the name [name_f]Louise[/name_f], but my dads name is [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. worried about that, as he is still very much alive, well, and in our lives… The namesake for honouring him would be amazing, but worry over than connotation.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is lovely, but moms name is [name_f]Charlene[/name_f], and we joked about [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]/[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and she said way to similar to my name no thank you…

We love older fashioned names, and preferably none in top 10 or 5! Right now I hear a lot of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_u]Kora[/name_u], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f]… Some names I like! :frowning:

Our last name is long, hard to spell, and starts with R.

Thank you all!!

[name_f]Louise[/name_f] is nice! If you’re worried about it being too similar to [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], maybe you might like [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]?

Other suggestions:
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (reminds me of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f])
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]

I’d use [name_f]Louise[/name_f] as the middle name…

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Peggy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] (I think the double L is cute)
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_u]Nila[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_u]Loren[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and think it’s a nice way to honor your dad  Your other names are sweet too

I would use [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]!

I dont see any problem with [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. When together, he’ll mostly be called Dad or Grandpa etc. I assume. I think it’s a cute way to honor him. Your mom might be the only one uncomfortable with it! I suppose if they both went by [name_m]Lew[/name_m]/[name_u]Lou[/name_u] it could get confusing, but other than that I think it’s fine.

[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would be perfect! A tie to both grandparents

Both [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are very beautiful names. I second the suggestion of using [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] (or even [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]) especially the suggestion of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
What about:
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Francine[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Mathilde[/name_f]
