Our baby girl is due in a few weeks, and I’ve really loved [name_f]Lily[/name_f] ([name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] are a few backups?). Side note - our last name begins with L as well, and DH wants to use my mom’s and my middle name which also begins with an L. Which of the names do you like best and why? DH is not a huge fan of alliteration, but most I’ve asked say it has a nice ring to it. Thank you in advance!
Hmm I think it depends what the names are. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] is OK to me, but [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Laura[/name_f] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is not great (I think because of which syllables are accented). Is there another middle you could use, maybe your mom’s first name? I like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] too, but it is similar in terms of L sounds, so use the one you like better. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] is nice but less classic.
I agree with PP about [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
If you really don’t like how it sounds choose another name, maybe your mum’s name or your name? Or if you want to keep the middle go with [name_f]Mia[/name_f] as a first.
I think there’s more of a concern with the first and last name alliterating. Thoughts?
I don’t think there’s a problem with first and last name alliterations at all, especially if you’re both happy with it
I love alliteration, so I say: go for it! But maybe you could use [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a nickname rather than the formal name?
Some ideas:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Kalila[/name_f]
[name_f]Galila[/name_f]
[name_f]Talila[/name_f]
[name_f]Dalila[/name_f]
