[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all!! You are always so helpful - and hubby and I are torn between [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] as our baby girls name. This is our first. We have had a lot of trouble deciding on a name for this little one! I appreciate your thoughts.
I prefer [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] to [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. (But I love the spelling [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].)
I love both but [name_f]Stella[/name_f] slightly more.

For some reason the spelling [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] doesn’t appeal to me as much as [name_u]Vivien[/name_u], or [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], so I choose [name_f]Stella[/name_f], though spelt another way I would choose [name_u]Vivien[/name_u]. I acknowledge though that [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] seems to be a popular spelling for girls at the moment.
I like both, but [name_f]Stella[/name_f] seems a bit fresher.

I adore both. I personally see [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] as two different names, with two different pronunciations. BTW I also adore [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. Between [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] I prefer [name_u]Vivian[/name_u].
I prefer [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] has always seemed too clunky to me, especially in this comparison. Plus with [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], you get the cute nn [name_f]Viv[/name_f]. I also like that spelling more than [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. If you do go with [name_f]Stella[/name_f], I like the combo [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], but not so much [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Stella[/name_f].
I prefer [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and that’s my favorite spelling of the name.
