[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I recently decided on the name [name_f]Eve[/name_f] for a girl.
We’re still debating on a middle, possibly [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. They are both very special honor names. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation is that her initials would be EWO or EMO (“ew” or “emotional”) Does this matter? Am I over thinking it?
I’d love to hear your honest opinions on the name [name_f]Eve[/name_f] (first impression?) and the potential initials.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] is stunning! I don’t think the initials are too big of a deal. They may become a target if the kid is already getting bullied, but they won’t cause bullying. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite of the two is [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], but I think EMO is more likely to be teased then EWO but things may change in the next 10 years when kids are old enough to notice things like this.
Love Eve and the combos you have thought of so far! I personally don’t think it’s a big deal with the initials. People rarely ever use full initials anyway, it’d likely just be EO on occasion. I really don’t think teasing would be an issue
I don’t think those are deal breaker initials. Kids knowing their peers’ full initials is very very rare, even among friend groups! A lot of my closest friends when I was small (in tradable years) had no clue what my middle name was. Teasing potential is so so so minuscule I’d say. Same as with any other initials that spell some sort of fun word.
If her first name and last name initials were EW, I might have pause, but a first and middle… I think you’re just fine.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] is a stunning name. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are both absolutely dreamy, daring, and delightful in the middle spot. So ethereal and magnificent. Those have to be two of the nicest honors ever. I’m sold!!
i don’t think ewo or emo are bad initials, plus i feel like most people write their initials as FN LN (so EO), instead of including their middle initial.
eve is a nice name, and i think both combos are gorgeous! i prefer eve magnolia slightly
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] is lovely! I really like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. In most instances she would just be EO not EMO. When i was in primary school the discussion of initials came up probably once, and there was never any bullying about people having words or abbreviations as their initials.
Thank you! EMO does give me the most pause of the two. I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], but I’m not sure about giving her those initials/monogram just because I like it a bit more, when we rarely use our middle names.
I love both options, I don’t really mind the initials because most the time when using initials where I’m from we only use the first and last name not sure about other areas though, I think I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] slightly but I also really like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
If you’re monogramming the initials will read EOM since the last name initial goes in the center.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] the initials EMO are completely fine…I wouldn’t avoid using these myself at all.
I adore [name_f]Eve[/name_f]! Both middles are great, But to me [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is so feminine nearly frilly, and I feel [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] gives it a warm strength and really gives the name good balance. Since both names are honors and seem important to you maybe consider doing a double middle? [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
This is an interesting thought! I didn’t cross my mind that “Emo” might not be widely used with kids these days. Does anything with a kid or teen know if it is still recognized/used?
This is great insight! I hadn’t thought that [name_f]Eve[/name_f] might come off as frilly (I’ve always thought of it as the little black dress of names- neutral, tailored, feminine and classic).
I don’t think either set of initials would cause problems for her. Either middle option is gorgeous! I love the name [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and it’s on my own name list, but I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is an almost cinematically appealing name—it gives me a lovely visual of [name_u]Southern[/name_u] twilight and moss-draped magnolia trees.
