Baby names for first born male where Dad and I have different favorites

Hello all,

I could use some help. My partner’s favorite name for a son has always been [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. I have never enjoyed that name on a male, and I can’t get my partner to divulge why he is so fond of it. My maternal grandfather’s name was [name_u]Roy[/name_u] [name_m]Warren[/name_m] Peetz. I am not fond of the name [name_u]Roy[/name_u], but I have taken a shine to the name [name_m]Warren[/name_m]. My partner however, does not find it as ‘perfect’ as I do.

Context: My name is [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] and my partner’s name is [name_m]Sean[/name_m]. [name_m]Adams[/name_m] is an honorific of the name of [name_m]Sean[/name_m]'s father before he was adopted, and it is pretty important to keep that as part of the middle name. The child’s last name will be Glass. So if my partner had his way the name would read [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] Glass, and while I don’t think that sounds bad all together-- I cannot get over the everyday, first name sound of [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. My suggestion would be [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] Glass or [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] Glass, but something sounds off about those when I read them all together.

Basically, does anyone have any suggestions for a middle of the road between [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], or something I can suggest that he might like that isn’t [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] but could sound good with [name_m]Warren[/name_m] (even if [name_m]Warren[/name_m] ends up being a first middle name and [name_m]Adams[/name_m] ends up being a second middle name).

I kind of just rambled on here, but I hope you guys have some good ideas. I am open to anything.

I absolutely love [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! It’s all boy for me. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Warren[/name_m]?

I’m not sure if you are looking for more suggestions or between [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_m]Warren[/name_m]. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] and [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] both sound like they flow well. My personal opinion would be to side with [name_m]Warren[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Quinton[/name_m] is a good middle road between [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_m]Warren[/name_m]. Or maybe [name_u]Ren[/name_u]?

Oh, I like the suggestion of [name_u]Ren[/name_u] (or [name_u]Wren[/name_u]).

What about: [name_u]Finn[/name_u]? [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]? [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]? [name_m]Quinton[/name_m]?

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] Glass

[name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] Glass?

Well, I love [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and can’t stand [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], but that won’t help much!

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] or [name_m]Quintin[/name_m] as they combine the [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] sound with an ending more similar to [name_m]Warren[/name_m]?

Other W names that feel similar: [name_m]Walden[/name_m]? [name_m]Walton[/name_m]? [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]?

What about [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]?

Good luck!

[name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] is lovely

Personally I don’t think it would be fair for him to decide all 3 names! If both middle and last names are from his side, I think it’s more than reasonable to stand your ground on the first name. Sorry I don’t have any particular alternative suggestions for you, but I don’t think you should feel in any way pressed to accept [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] if you don’t like it…

What about [name_m]Quirin[/name_m] Pronounciation: [name_m]KEER[/name_m]-in?

Personally I think the previous people’s suggestions are fantastic of:

[name_u]Winn[/name_u]/[name_u]Wynn[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]/[name_u]Ren[/name_u]

Really the two Names are actually possible to combine!

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] and The [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Adams[/name_m]. If I can convince him of that anyway. Haha. These all are great suggestions, and I appreciate everyone chiming in!
