Brothers [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] ([name_u]Max[/name_u]) and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ([name_u]Theo[/name_u]).
[name_f]Sister[/name_f] [name_f]Annika[/name_f] ([name_f]Annie[/name_f]).
I would [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] some opinions/feedback on our current top lists!
Boy names - we’re pretty settled on this one. Spelling is an issue though… Middle name will be [name_m]William[/name_m].
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is seems more familiar and ‘softer’, but [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] seems more in tune with our [name_m]German[/name_m]/Northern European heritage.
Any input?
Girl names - More of a variation and debate - Middle name will depend on the first name, but likely contenders are [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f].
I want something feminine, but a bit sassy and ‘sparky’ - while also being somewhat rarer (prefer no top 100 names), but not ‘out-there’ or made-up.
I figure a girl has to be a bit sassy in this world anyhow! Ha!
Input/Comments are greatly appreciated!
(For instance, I liked the name ‘[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]’ until someone pointed out that the ‘Ass’ in the name may be a problem )
Hello there, you probably haven’t got any responses yet because you’ve posted in the wrong category. Anyway…
I vastly prefer [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] to [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]. [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] looks misspelled, even though I know it’s the correct [name_m]German[/name_m] spelling.
For girls, I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a much nicer middle name than [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] (I’m guessing [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] is an honour name).
I’m a bit torn as to the spelling of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]/[name_m]Oskar[/name_m]. I actually like both spellings, depending on the context. Is your surname [name_m]German[/name_m]/Northern European? If so, you could get away with the spelling [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]. If it’s not obviously a [name_m]German[/name_m]/Northern European surname, then I’d probably stick with [name_m]Oscar[/name_m].
As for a girl, my favourite combinations from your list are either [name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f].
I prefer [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] with a “c” ([name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] aren’t particularly Northern European or [name_m]German[/name_m] names/spellings, are they? ) [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] looks more polished and he would probably have to say “that’s [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] with a k” for the rest of his life if you spelled it the other way. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is definitely sassy but she would share an initial with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] are too matchy for my comfort level. From your list, [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] or [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would be my pick. I like [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] too! Have you considered [name_f]Greta[/name_f] or [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]?
I agree with what the others have said about the spelling of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. Unless you have a surname to support it and it’s very important to you, I’d use the c spelling.
I love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] with your other names! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] and goes great.
[name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is also lovely, but maybe not quite as spunky.
Is [name_f]Greta[/name_f] or [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] too weird for you? I just love them!
I really like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Nora[/name_f] without the H as the H makes it look a little tacky too me.
I think [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] looks better and more exciting. I cannot see a [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] or [name_f]Margot[/name_f] in your sibset. I prefer [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] over [name_f]Isla[/name_f] because [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is becoming so popular and it would go great with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is pretty but doesn’t sound sassy to me and [name_f]Norah[/name_f] is nice and simple.
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Norah[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] would make an awesome sib-set.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m], thank you so much you all!
I so very much appreciate your input, comments, and suggestions!
Your viewpoints really help me clarify how I’m feeling and thinking about some of these names.
Again, so very much appreciated!!!
BTW, I really enjoy [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], but DH does not.
Any comments on [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]?
Does [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] sound like it’s trying too hard? (I’m thinking, Yes it does.)
Would [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] be called [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] (which reminds me too much of the [name_m]Borden[/name_m]'s cow! Cringe)
