So far, I’ve thought of names such as Curie, [name_m]Newton[/name_m], or Einstein which honors a person known in the field of physics, but less so of actual physics-related names themselves. Perhaps terms like [name_f]Ether[/name_f] or Crest, or even Entropy can make a nice physics nickname or codename.
Please help me come up with more! Outlandish ideas are very welcome.
Fun challenge! I love science and am studying it, so let’s see… I’ll give a name, and then a short explanation. Some of these will be a bit “out there” haha
Harmony – Harmonic motion, waves Timbre – Self explanatory Doppler – Doppler Effect, Christian Doppler Inertia – Self explanatory Faraday – Farday’s law, Michael Faraday Eddy – Eddy currents Pythagoras – Self explanatory Bell – Bell’s theorem, John Bell Birch – Birch’s law, Francis Birch Pascal – Pascal’s law, Blaise Pascal Ampere – SI unit for current Farad – SI unit for capacitance Kelvin – SI unit for thermodynamic temperature Tau – Tau particles Electra – Electricity Joule – Unit of energy
I also think astronomical names could work – Nova comes to mind, along with Stella, Luna, Galaxy, Mars… But there’s plenty more out there! I found this list you might like:
I also think anything related to geography and the natural environment could be good! Names such as Bay, Delta, Coral, and Canyon come to mind. Here is a list I found:
I don’t know much about physics but I like the name [name_u]Edison[/name_u] (was he a physicist or a different kind of science??) And I also kind of like the name [name_u]Science[/name_u], it’s out there but cool
I’ve done too much physics so here are my favorites ignoring any cool scientist names mostly.
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u]: so many waves in physics
[name_u]Maxwell[/name_u]: for Maxwell’s laws of course!
Rho: or really any greek letter lol but I think Rho is the most interesting sounding
[name_f]Cat[/name_f]: I’m thinking of Schrodinger’s cat but it could be a nickname for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
SHO: Simple harmonic oscillator! These initials would be very subtle. [name_u]Harmony[/name_u] works too. Maybe [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]?
[name_u]Diamond[/name_u]: Diamonds are a really interesting material in physics and you can go with some other related things too like Carbon, Graphite and [name_m]Bucky[/name_m] (for bucky balls!)
Hbar: Is this a name? It should be!
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u]: For [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] series. Ok, this is really more a math thing but used so much…
